從澳元素礦，到薩凡尼亞曼恩
TF2 剛開始的時候沒有很多背景故事。當時並沒有多大空間可發揮。但等到更多野心勃勃的更新出來後，我們找到了一個探索傭兵世界的完美辦法：漫畫。幾年後，漫畫產生了許多配角，還有幫助配角的助手配配角。這裡面橫跨全球的公司之歷史，讓我們知道了這是足以跨越三代的漫長故事。而這款遊戲，則始於一群待在沙漠的厲害傢伙的互相攻擊，種種事蹟促使了 Valve 做出公司史以來，最錯綜複雜的遊戲故事。

漫畫是在絕地要塞 2 中，用來說明情節發展的短篇故事。這些漫畫是以傭兵們、他們的老闆，或者是其他各具特色的角色的觀點，來述說絕地要塞 2 中故事的發展。

雖然這些漫畫會解釋很多事情，像是傭兵們如何得到新武器、或者到底是誰錄製了團隊專訪的影片，但基本上絕地要塞 2 的漫畫故事和時間軸是沒什麼關連性的。

能讓狙擊手成為一名「瓶手道大師」的奇恥大辱是在狙擊手 vs.間諜更新的第 7 頁登場。

噗皮．喬可以在戰爭！更新漫畫的第 10 頁，點選 "poor monkey" 這個字進入牠的隱藏頁面。

薩凡尼亞臨終的遺言：最早是要在 2009萬聖節更新頁面時，按下薩凡尼亞．曼恩的墓碑才能看到。之後漫畫脫韁野馬的第四頁，如果點選「*參見議#97」的話，也可以看到遺言。

曼恩家族照的左半邊，要在薩凡尼亞臨終的遺言中，按下寫著「巴拿巴．海爾」這個字進入才能看見。

曼恩家族照的左半和右半邊，必須要在 2010 年萬聖節更新時的頁面，按下墓碑上的席拉斯．曼恩這個名字才能看見。
