The team is attacked by a horde of AI-controlled robots, and must prevent the robots from successfully delivering a bomb to the players' base (as in [[Payload]]). The robots come in waves, and between waves the players have time to upgrade their weapons.
 
 
 
Most of the robot horde is made up of plain robotic versions of the nine classes, with basic weapons. However, there are also a number of [[Mann vs. Machine#Special Robots|special robots]] with unique abilities.

Mann vs. Machine is a co-op game mode to be released in the update of the same name. In Mann vs. Machine, teams of six players attempt to prevent a horde of robots from carrying a bomb to their base.
