Valve Wiki Network is a web-ring for the top Wikis that document Valve Software's products, intended to benefit each member by linking to each other through sidebar links, a section on the bottom of each member's Main Page, and appropriate use of interwiki links.
Contents
Criteria
To be considered a member, a Wiki must meet the following criteria.
- Free to edits.
- Either open to anonymous edits, or does not restrict newly registered accounts with regards to how they can contribute - within reason.
- Active community.
- Frequent constructive contributions by site members.
- Active staff.
- Respond to clearly de-constructive contributions within a reasonable timeframe.
- Good search engine ranking.
- A first-page ranking on a non-personalised Google search for "[Wiki's focus] Wiki."
- Established content.
- The wiki must already cover the basics of it's focused product.
Advertisements
- No pop-ups.
- No in-window pop-ups that overlaps content.
- Reasonable if the advertisement requires explicit interaction with a user to trigger it's pop-up; must also have a clear way to exit this pop-up.
- No auto-playing video or audio.
- Measures in place to quickly respond and blacklist any violations of these criteria within 48 hrs.
