Template:Weapon infobox The Hand Grenade (also Frag Grenade or Normal Grenade) is a type of grenade in Team Fortress Classic. It is a timed explosive that causes a substantial amount of damage when it explodes. It is used by every class except the Scout and Civilian.
Damage
High if right next to explosion; damage decreases the further the target is from the explosion.
Strategies
There exists a useful script that allowed players to time their grenade throws and detonations. This script works for all grenade types. One click would prime your grenade but not throw it, the second would throw it. Skilled and experienced players often used this technique in a duel to throw the frag or other grenade at the right moment. Other players would Kamikaze with their grenades as upon death they were dropped at the corpse if primed but not thrown.
The explosion radius of a frag is larger than its animation, do not be fooled into thinking you are safe if you are not aware of this.
