“You are so small! Is funny to me!” This article is a stub. As such, it is not complete. You can help Team Fortress Wiki by expanding it. |
Team Fortress 2 features a global messaging system, which allows Valve to send notifications to all in-game players at once. These are referred to as system messages. The system has been used in the past, and is used today, for a variety of events including but not limited to:
- the use of a Something Special for Someone Special
- the announcement of maintenance periods and/or item server downtime
- the destruction of a Golden Wrench or Saxxy
- the announcement of the Blood Brothers comic
- a player receiving a Golden Frying Pan
A system message can appear in both the text chat area and the notifications area, and certain messages are accompanied by a sound effect.
System messages most often appear to all players on an individual server, except for global events such as Golden Wrench drops or deletions or downtime announcements.
