GRU + Dalokohs's Bar Tip
Consider using this with the Dalokohs Bar, as the +50 maximum HP buff can be used to reach the front lines faster, with less base health lost.
I vote to remove this tip as I feel it has no pratical application considering you can use the sandvich to regain health insead at a much more efficient rate

Dalokohs's Bar
* The Dalokohs Bar is a craftable secondary weapon for the Heavy. Consuming the Dalokohs Bar restores 60 HP over four seconds when eaten, and increases the Heavy's maximum health to 350 HP for 30 seconds. As with the Sandvich, the Heavy becomes immobile and makes highly audible eating noises. ** At the end of the 30-second time limit, any health over 300 becomes overheal health, and will fully drain away in around 7 seconds.
* Unlike the Sandvich or Buffalo Steak Sandvich, the Dalokohs Bar has no cooldown timer, and thus can be consumed consecutively multiple times to restore health. However, be wary that consuming it will still take time, so it is often wiser to simply look for more health pickups if the chance of being ambushed by enemies is high.
I'm pretty sure this info is outdated. If I can find some time I'll retest and rewrite this.

Cooperative Class Strategies: Possible Demoman Tip
Does anyone know if classes other than other Demomen can Sticky Jump on friendly Sticky Bombs? Airrider 19:04, 6 June 2011 (EST) No, the Demoman's Sticky Bombs only affect himself and opponents in standard gameplay Inkmonkey 12:00, 6 August 2011 (PDT)
Cleanup
I'm going through this article and removing quite a lot of repetition (Trying to condense notes into fewer words, grouping similar points into one note etc). I'm being rather ruthless, but to be honest, this page and its counterparts for other classes are a total mess and really need it. Manta 05:36, 26 September 2011 (PDT)
Stand by a dispenser and get shot...?!
Numerous times this strat guide states that standing by a dispenser and semi blindly spraying rounds is a good idea.
Simply put, it never is in any situation. Why are these obviously terrible bits of advice still on the article? JimmyDeSouza 15:34, 28 December 2011 (PST)
- That's debatable. Simply put, the Community Strategy pages are places where practically anyone can write down tips and strategies. There aren't necessarily good ones and bad ones, as different play styles and situations require different approaches. This strategy for example depends a lot on the position of the dispenser and the type of map - if it allows the Heavy to guard the intelligence for example then it's perfectly reasonable, whereas it would be less effective while attacking or when there are enemy Spies lurking about.
» Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 15:42, 28 December 2011 (PST)- But in the example you give, the dispenser is just a beacon for anyone with thier sound turned on that there is going to be someone there. This is compounded if the players on the other team know you like to hide by dispensers (which is something they will be able to gleam from a fairly short time on the server). So all it does is tell the enemy where you are going to be. Even a lvl 3 dispenser is worthless as an in combat healing source. There is literally no time when camping at a dispenser is a good idea, and mindlessly spraying rounds like the strat page suggests is even worse.
- Still, if it is just a place for anyone to post whatever nonsense ideas they have, then fair enough. I thought it was a page to place tried and tested tactics in however. JimmyDeSouza 06:43, 29 December 2011 (PST)
- I don't quite understand the thinking behind your argument - level 3 dispensers are useless as a healing source? What if there aren't any Medics about? In my example I mentioned a Heavy guarding the intelligence, who will probably go through a lot of ammunition. In that case it's perfectly acceptable to stay near a dispenser to replenish ammo. They might make a noise but they're certainly quiter than Sentry guns - are you suggesting that those useless because everyone will hear them before they get shot? » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 10:39, 29 December 2011 (PST)
- Note I said as an IN COMBAT healing source, 20hp a second healing without an overheal isnt going to make any real difference mid fight against a competant enemy. Indeed if they are foiled by 20hp/s of healing, they werent a threat anyway. And as an out of combat healing source, a mid slot item is far faster.
- It isnt the Heavy that is loud neccesarily, it is the dispenser. And a dispenser always means that there will be someone near it. If you do not understand the massive advantage of knowing even an approximate location of an enemy, you are stupid plain and simple.
- Also, a heavy guarding the intel will need constant ammo replenishment? What exactly is the heavy wasting all this ammo on? You must play vs some terrible players if your idea of good heavy play is to stand there spraying everywhere constantly. You use small amounts of ammo spychecking visables that come near you, and use your ears to detect cloaked spies uncloaking (which is something the dispenser interferes with, though only slightly). Though strictly speaking, a heavy sitting around the intel isnt doing his job. That is a pyroes work. Heavies should only be sitting on the intel while waiting for it to reset, and pushing when the intel is back in the room.
- And finally, yes sentry guns left to thier own devices are useless because of the noise, and even when they are minded the noise still leaves them semi useless. I am surprised you even asked this, have you ever played this game? Why do you think there are so many engies asking for an easier and quicker way to offline thier sentries than picking them up (though that is certainly an improvement over having to just try and quickbuild them).
