One example of Class Wars (without the Class Warfare plugin) was the popular mode Engie Vs. Medic where one team was all Medic and the other all Engie. Another example is how there are servers (such as ones on teamwork.tf [https://teamwork.tf/community/quickplay/class-wars here]) that functionally do the same as Class Warfare, without using it. So I think this page ought to be moved and rewritten to talk about the gamemode Class Wars in general and perhaps mention that Class Warfare was the first popular Class Wars plugin. Requested Move
Class Warfare, the plugin, was just the first version of Class Wars, the gamemode, where teams are restricted to one class. One example of Class Wars (without the Class Warfare plugin) was the popular mode Engie Vs. Medic where one team was all Medic and the other all Engie. Another example is how there are servers (such as ones on teamwork.tf here) that functionally do the same as Class Warfare, without using it. So I think this page ought to be moved and rewritten to talk about the gamemode Class Wars in general and perhaps mention that Class Warfare was the first popular Class Wars plugin. - You seem to be making a couple of points here, I want to discuss them individually.
- 1. Class Warfare was the first version of Class Wars.
- Can you provide a citation here? I'm not familiar with this mod, and gamebanana is not what it used to be -- maybe a link to the creator's website, or the mod on Github, or similar?
- 2. Other servers provide similar functionality.
- If there are other, similar plugins / mods, then they likely have a place on this page. But I don't see how this is directly related to renaming the page, unless there's a consensus among those plugins about the name of the mode? For example, in counter strike, "Gun game" was originally a mod but has since become "Arms race" in the official game.
- In general, if you feel like there's content missing from the wiki, please contribute that content (in whatever form you feel is best -- this page or another), and we can figure out where it should live. It takes much less effort to copy/paste someone's carefully written words than to write them in the first place.
