Hello, Slimyboi500!
Welcome to the Official Team Fortress Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- You can use the button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
- If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Slimyboi500 to the file's name.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Slimyboi500/ to the page title when you create the page.
Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress Wiki!

User files
Hi there,
Please remember to include with the User images you upload, I've added it for you.
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) (contribs) 22:33, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- Categories should be on the actual file itself, not in the title. So the title should start with "User Slimyboi500", and when uploading the image the summary should contain .

Winglet page
Hi there,
Please note that pages about YouTubers or other community figures are not allowed under the Notable People Policy.

Talk page usage
Hi there,
Talk pages are only used to discuss the contents of the article such as wording or additional/incorrect information, not to talk about what the article is about. That kind of discussion should be kept to the Steam discussions.

Seal page
Hi there,
I've reverted your Seal edit, although it was a popular character around the time of the Summer 2023 Update, the popularity and prominence quickly died down and it is not notable to have its own page. Due to it being only featured on one map and not anywhere else, as well as generally not having any info around it beyond being a seal, it is not notable enough for an NPC page entry either. The information related to the Seal should only be on the Selbyen page (note that it should only contain gameplay-related information and not its popularity among the community).

Signature
Hi there,
I noticed you added an image to your signature after signing your post, you can have this image appear by default if you make the page User:Slimyboi500/Sig, then put the following on the page:
--Slimyboi500 (talk)
Save the page, then click on "Preferences" at the top right of the page. Look for the "User profile" section, then look for the "Signature" section, and put the following into the text box after "New signature":
, then tick "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link). Then scroll to the bottom and click "Save". You should now automatically add the "--" and the File with your signature, meaning you only have to put ~~~~.

Neck Snap images
Hi there,
The Neck Snap images look like they were not made in HLMV, but rather cropped from a video or screenshot. Note that these images should be made using HLMV, rather than cropped from a screenshot. Please also remember to add the appropriate categories and licenses when uploading images.
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) (contribs) 17:31, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
Userbox and categories/licenses
Hi there,
When uploading files, please remember to add the appropriate licenses and categories. If you struggle with adding either of these, try looking for similar files and see what they have added. Note that this is mandatory and not optional! Please also use Userbox's template, rather than copying the text from the template page. For example, for the Cambodian Userbox would be User Cambodian
, rather than copying the template's text.
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) (contribs) 18:33, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- Note that it is required for images to have a license and category. If you struggle with these, try looking at similar images to see which ones they use.

/km translations
Hello, Slimyboi500.
The Team Fortress Wiki does not have support for Khmer. Please do not add translations to templates and create articles in this language. - BrazilianNut (talk) 18:38, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
Dictionary pages & trolldier image
Hi there,
Please don't create dictionary pages yourself, this is handled by a bot. They should be added to the dictionary itself, rather than have the pages made for them. However, Demoknight is not used with a template and doesn't have its own icon, unlike the other "classes" entries in the dictionary.
Please also do not create File: pages that simply contain a single image. Leaderboard images are either used for (custom) MvM missions, or for the icon that appears on leadboards, please do not add item icons unless they are used on a notable mission.

- Maybe consider forums like Alliedmodders, this is a wiki website after all.Profiteer(奸商)the tryhard (talk) 05:21, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
Pop-Eyes item icon
Hi there,
Every cosmetic item has an item icon already, please make sure you spell the item's name right rather than uploading a file under the misspelled name.

Strategy pages
Hi there,
Please do not copy paste entire strategy articles, even when it's a map reskin. Also, please do not use a double space after a period, it should only be a single space.

Dictionary edit
Hi there,
Please be careful with your edits, as your recent edit accidentally added a piece of pre-formatted text from the help menu. Using "Show changes" can help show what kind of changes you've made.

Pages maintained by bots
Hi there slimeboi,
Before editing a page, please be sure it is not maintained by a bot, you know it by checking the history if it's 99% edit by bot then it is probably one of them.
Keep up the good work(Idk what to say it's 2am here I'ma gonna die soon)
Profiteer the tryhard (talk|contribute) 18:17, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
- If a page is updated by a bot, it will most likely say so somewhere. The specific dictionary page you updated is maintained by WindBOT based on a different page. Adding it to the page there would mean that WindBOT likely overrides it at some point and removes it anyway.
- As for these specific edits, the Wiki Cap is granted by Staff members who are able to do so, it's best to get the person who grants it to do the edits. The initiative is much appreciated, though, and bold edits are preferred.

- Ok, but is there a page where it tells which pages are run by bots?

- Ok, but is there a page where it tells which pages are run by bots?
- Not as far as I know, but generally the page itself will mention so, or an editnotice will say so.

Translations on templates
Hi there,
I've noticed you seem to not add translation switching on templates. The if lang
template only takes care of the link, but the actual displayed text should be translated too, as obviously "soaked" is not Dutch, Czech, Russian, Chinese, etc. Please see this page for how to properly do it.
