The Soldier

The Gentle Manne's Service Medal is a cosmetic item for the Soldier. It adds a small, circular gold medal, worn on the chest with a team-colored ribbon.

The item's description was written by Lamech for the Hat Describing Contest.

This item was awarded to the first 11,111 players who visited a hidden page on the Classless Update website.

Unused content

  • A separate model under the name of medals.mdl exists in the game files, albeit with broken UV mapping. The model that is used in-game uses a bodygroup setting from Soldier's player model instead.

Notes

  • In the item description, "whom" is used incorrectly. The soldiers being the subject of the clause "those brave soldiers who stood guard", would be more appropriate.

  • Upon winning a charity auction for Child's Play, a Team Fortress 2 player named Vulcnor received Gentle Manne's Service Medal No. 11,112, along with one of every other game item.
