The Creature from the Heap is a community-created cosmetic item for the Pyro. It replaces the Pyro's default oxygen tank with a trash can containing an unknown creature. A note scribbled with "Stay out!" is taped on the front, and a belt with a silver buckle is wrapped around the trash can's center. Under the slightly raised lid, two glowing white eyes can be seen, and the creature's tentacles emerge and hang on the outside, with slime oozing from the sides.

This item can only be worn around Halloween or during a Full Moon; at other times of the year, it does not appear in gameplay, unless the server has Halloween mode enabled. However, it can be equipped at any time and can still be viewed on the loadout screen even when it is not visible during games.

The Creature from the Heap was contributed to the Steam Workshop.
