I believe I can reasonably expect that you can recognize that the statue in WAR! is in reference to Odin.  Perhaps the main Odin reference isn’t the problem. But let me back up a bit.

It's good that you are putting in licensing information with uploads. You also need to add them to a proper category, like <nowiki>[[Category:Item name images/fr]]</nowiki>. You can copy that in the summary field before the upload. If you don't do it, I have to come along after you and fix it up. -- [[User:Pilk|Pilk]] ([[User talk:Pilk|talk]]) 23:48, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

When I first saw the MONOCULUS, it immediately reminded me of the [http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/10/109250/2249285-ThorDurability19-Heat292.jpg Odin’s Eye] monster from ''The Mighty Thor'' series.  I admit, the coincidence of one-eyed god and a one-eyed mercenary slipped past me at that time. I have read WAR! comic a few times, I’m embarrassed to say that I missed the that the statue is Odin for so long. And how fitting is it to place a god of war in a comic titled War!?  But on page 14, they shove it in your face, eye-to-eye, as it were!

You also need to put item name images licensed as public domain. -- [[User:Pilk|Pilk]] ([[User talk:Pilk|talk]]) 23:50, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
+
But then, why even place the shield with the statue?  Ravens and spear? Yes. ''Ravens and spear'' is how you tell the reader that the statue is supposed to be Odin. But did Odin have a famous shield?  I am not sure that he did.  But even if he did, why put a MONOCULUS-like eye on the shield, when a symbol for the Eye of Odin (cross over a circle) resembles the TF2 trademark?

OK,
 +
#A God of War statue in a comic titled WAR!  Fitting, yes, but why?  Wouldn’t any old statue do for the beheading demo?  Why not a famous statue?  Michelangelo’s David?  Or Rodan’s Thinker?  No. ''Who'' the statue is is important here.
 +
#Not Mars, not Ares, with their heads full of eyeballs, but the one-eyed boozer Odin.
 +
#Both Odin and Demoman have an eye removed.  ''OK''.  ''That'' explains the selection of Odin.
 +
#But wait, both of the removed eyes become giant flame/eye bomb shooting monsters!?!?
 +
#The inexplicable eye on the shield. '''WHY? '''  An eye on a shield is not an Odin thing. That shape of that eye is not a Norse or Medieval style. That eye looks like no eye in Heraldry; ''but'', it looks like MONOCULUS.
 +
So, I hope you can consider that, at the face of it, at least the placement of the Odin reference at Demoman’s house was deliberate.  OK, comparing their notorious drinking habits, weak.  But, were the publishers thinking of Odin's Eye and MONOCULUS at that time?  Not absolutely certain, but the eye on the shield is at least an interesting coincidence.

Now that I see a lot of weapons use links to other weapons instead of showing stats directly, I'm unsure about what the policy is. I personally think all pages should have stats, which isn't that hard to maintain (it's not like there's 10 kinds of pistols and that they change its damage stats every week). Regardless, this shouldn't be an issue if/when we get SMW. [[User:WindPower|<span style="font-weight:bold;">Wind</span>]] {{adm}} 00:52, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

::AFAIK Valve removed the translated unlockable weapon names from the TF_ITALIAN.TXT file, getting rid of the odd names such as "Forza della Natura" "Karavaso" (jarate) and "Cipollotto Letale" (dead ringer) to name a few. I asked why put that back, and if Valve did reinstate them in recent update.--[[User:Kid Of The Century|Kid Of The Century]] 15:20, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello Piemanmoo. I am translating the spanish wiki and I would like to ask you two things, if you would let me to ^^ As Sr_Domi has requested, try not translating and opening new articles because it's going the wrong way. While I think you are doing it for good, it's actually not working very well because spanish is hard. For instance, I've found lots of errors related to gender and number agreement. I know that you want to help, so that is why I am asking you the second thing. Sr_Domi has told me that you have uploaded sound files and images, and that's how you can be TRULY useful for our project. Also, he told me that you've corrected some silly errors, and it would also be nice if you kept up with that.[[User:Leblinski|Leblinski]] 22:50, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi, im new in the Wiki, so I want to help to make articles in Spanish. Why?. Well, I live in country where Spanis is the natal language, so i want to help to do the new articles. If you speak spanish read more, is not, only ignore me.

Hi Piemanmoo, Can you tell me please where you got the term "grandes daños dispersión" for High Damage Falloff. This is clearly a literal translation of "big, hurt, dispertion" which babelfish and google translate do not understand, it doesn't work and it sticks out a mile. If you could please not provide literal translation when you are unsure of the correct term, further could you not provide curt alteration comments such as "what a mess". If it's a mess it's because it's in its draft stage and I'm saving it to go make myself a cup of tea. Something more constructive such as "swapped out translation of classes back to english", that would be more helpful.

:Google translate and Bablefish are not reliable translation services, otherwise translating pages would be much much easier. The "what a mess" comment was in regards to the poorly formed wiki syntax and translations. Also, we use translations based on the in-game language files, so class names are always in english. If you have any questions about translating pages, let me know. --[[User:Piemanmoo|Piemanmoo]] {{mod}} 01:50, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
