The Deflector is a primary weapon used by the Deflector Heavy, Giant Deflector Heavy, Giant Heal-on-Kill Deflector Heavy (Type 1 and 2), and Chief Heal-on-Kill Deflector Heavy in Mann vs. Machine mode. Its model and functionality are identical to those of the Minigun as the deflection attribute is independent of the Deflector. The only difference is the green tracer effect rather than the usual yellow.

Update history
August 15, 2012 Patch (Mann vs. Machine Update)
- [Undocumented] The Deflector was added to the game.
Trivia
- There existed a single Deflector owned by one player. It was a user who found an exploit in the item schema which could be used to obtain any item in the game. He sent Valve a description of the exploit and, as proof, gave himself a Deflector with the Unique quality. Valve removed the item, fixed the exploit, and gave him an Unusual of his choice.
