I believe that this hat is a reference to the Doctor Who episode "Silence in the Library" where the Vashta Nerada kill one of the crew and leaves his skeleton inside his body. Photo from the episode: 180px-Silence_in_the_Library_675.jpg Pugs501 (talk) 10:47, 3 November 2013 (PST)

It's not. The item creators have confirmed this multiple times. --Omolong (talk) 10:48, 3 November 2013 (PST)
Where do the authors say that? Were you one of them, or do you know them? I would like to know please because I just want to know what they say about it. Legomaster445 (talk) 17:11, 22 December 2013 (PST)
Most likely they were messaged directly. However if you want to talk to them, do it in another form rather than adding them. And I'm pretty sure I can trust Omolong with the saying. It's the item creator's decision whether it was made to be a reference or not. Not valve. Ashes (talk) 17:14, 22 December 2013 (PST)
Ashes pretty much covered it, but just to clarify. At least one of the item creators made multiple posts over on the Facepunch forums saying that the item wasn't a reference to Doctor Who, and there was another post going over how the idea came from "Space Oddity" and Y: The Last Man Vol. 3. I can't find the exact post at the moment, as I can't remember who posted it, what thread they posted it in, or when it was posted, but they definitely did post it. --Omolong (talk) 17:23, 22 December 2013 (PST)
To help squash any more discussion of if this is a Doctor Who Reference, here's the comic book cover the trivia refers to looks like and what the creator said influenced him: SfuIYm7.jpg Theharribokid (talk) 18:34, 8 January 2014 (PST)
It seems as long as the image is in the discussion page, and the creator says otherwise, theres no need to throw an image up. Ashes (talk) 18:58, 8 January 2014 (PST)
