What exactly is wrong with Nutella785's translations? I don't have connections to an online Russian person right now, so I had to go with a quick and dirty Google Translate, and (please correct me if I'm wrong); apparently a lot of text isn't translated and they would be worthy of a rewrite. Hello, Shinobu!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Shinobu to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Shinobu/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Item icons

Hey there, just a quick message to say that item icons have to be 512 pixels by 384 pixels. You should also make sure you add the appropriate licensing and categories for them. --Omolong (talk) 08:46, 21 December 2013 (PST)

Once again, Please make sure the item icons are 512 pixels by 384 pixels, If they are smaller they won't be visible on the tables and such. Also you're still not putting the right licenses or categories on them either. I would highly advise that you do so. Ashes (talk) 08:56, 21 December 2013 (PST)

Show preview

A question

What exactly is wrong with Nutella785's translations? I don't have connections to an online Russian person right now, so I had to go with a quick and dirty Google Translate, and (please correct me if I'm wrong); apparently a lot of text isn't translated and they would be worthy of a rewrite. The first one clearly doesn't apply as everything seems to be translated, and the second one I can't confirm as I myself don't have knowledge of Russian. Can you explain what's going on? User Zabidenu sig.png (contribstalk) 06:36, 12 February 2014 (PST)

For example
> Steam Workshop link is not translated, it must be .../ru|Мастерская Steam and other
> Lexical mistakes: straight translation, lack of periphrases
Generally their translation is good but it could be quite better.
I suggest this user check other pages for examples as I did.

(To start off, a little note to keep discussions on one talk page. Thanks) Ah, I see now. I notified him in the IRC about the links not being translated and he understood it eventually, so that's one problem solved. Grammatical issues are another thing entirely and that I can't do anything about. However, in the future please try to explain the problem properly, as clearly your rewrite notices and such didn't get the point across well enough to Nutella >: User Zabidenu sig.png (contribstalk) 09:36, 12 February 2014 (PST)
Don't you know any remarkable russian traslators here? Because I see you can't really understand the problem. English has grammatical problems usually. But russian language is way more difficult. So as I can see Nutella's translations are fine in grammatical rules but poor enough in lexical. I can purely imagine how does he translate it. Copypaste text, then just straight switch english words with russian fixing by some grammatical rules. BUT that's still not enough. That's all my explanation I guess if I won't give a talk about formulaic articles that just must be copypasted sometimes.

I do understand what you're going for, but this is an issue you'll have to talk out with him directly - I can't have word on this because I have zero knowledge of Russian. User Zabidenu sig.png (contribstalk) 10:12, 12 February 2014 (PST)
Psst.. for some reason he won't answer me :'c I've seen him only communicating with you... Shinobu (talk) 10:16, 12 February 2014 (PST)
Try messaging him on his talk page about the things you explained above - he will most likely answer to you there, and he will surely be alerted of the message. User Zabidenu sig.png (contribstalk) 10:24, 12 February 2014 (PST)
