When I was trying to destroy a tank, I got smashed against a wall and died instantly. Instead of saying I was killed by a tank, however, it says I was killed by a Giant Rapid Fire Demoman. There were none in that wave, and there was an "uncertain death" symbol up in the corner. Why did this happen? Does anyone know? This occurred on wave 6 of Disk Deletion, by the way.

Health information

The health listed here should be tied to mission, not map. Seeing as there are 3 missions per map. - Devozade 04:49, 19 August 2012 (PDT)

Should Tank-based achievements be listed here? Wayn3w 14:37, 19 August 2012 (PDT)

Yes, under a "Related Achievements" heading. ~Sven~ 14:43, 19 August 2012 (PDT)

Taunt Kills

What taunt kills can damage the tank? So far the only taunts I seen damage one is Kamikaze and Execution (however I only think it was the flare hitting the tank as if it was a normal flare) Sarcasm 18:41, 19 August 2012 (PDT)

I've tried Execution against a tank and I'm pretty sure it only did flare damage. However I didn't save any video or a screenshot so I can't prove this. Also, Skewer and Spinal Tap do no damage. Mister Chippy 07:03, 11 October 2012 (PDT)
None of them do damage except Execution and Kamikaze, which deal basic damage. ==Fax Celestis talkcontribhome 14:21, 11 October 2012 (PDT)

Shooting the wheels on the side of the tank will deal slightly more damage than shooting it from the front, but may be more unsafe if there are other robots in the wave.

" Shooting the wheels on the side of the tank will deal slightly more damage than shooting it from the front, but may be more unsafe if there are other robots in the wave."

Removed this line as it isnt true. I welcome you to test it in your own listen servers or games.

The tracks stick out somewhat, which will lessen falloff depending on where you are shooting the tank from, but that =/= the above. JimmyDeSouza 19:02, 19 August 2012 (PDT)

Inspired by...

Hi, I think the design of the tank has a few clear influences, does that stuff belong in the wiki? The classic evil "truck from Duel"(search that) can be seen in the grille and lights and so on.

To me the half sphere robotic 'driver' references the way R2 units in Star Wars sit in a vehicle like the xwing and pilot/co-pilot.

There are probably lots of tanks this one looks like but interestingly search for tank r2 and you will find a Romanian tank variant named TACAM R2, which looks quite similar. cheers Uneffect 05:37, 21 August 2012 (PDT)

I'd say that comes under the heading of speculation. It's interesting, but it's all down to personal interpretation, so it's best not to include it unless we get a specific statement from someone at Valve saying "It's meant to be X". dendodge 05:40, 21 August 2012 (PDT)
Yeah I thought so, brb emailing Gabe, aheh heh Uneffect 06:18, 21 August 2012 (PDT)

Paint Arrows

I've noticed that a tank in the final wave has white arrows painted on the front. Enemy Spy 13:17, 22 August 2012 (PDT)

You were killed by Giant Rapid Fire Demoman?

When I was trying to destroy a tank, I got smashed against a wall and died instantly. Instead of saying I was killed by a tank, however, it says I was killed by a Giant Rapid Fire Demoman. I think it would help if you linked a picture of this if you have this. Even if you don't I don't think it would be notable unless we are seeing this happen often. Keoki97 (talk)

Romevision

Could the flag staff weapon be off the rome-vision tank? It's lightly damaged model shows the staff broken off in a very similar way. Minecraftmann (talk) 06:34, 4 June 2014 (PDT)

It pretty much is, however it is not notable. We've removed this type of trivia multiple times already. Ashes (talk) 11:59, 4 June 2014 (PDT)

Modded bomb cart

If you spawn one in on a payload map, they fall to the tracks, can take no damage, and do a bomb drop animation upon reaching the final termunis. Here are a few videos of this on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pRyhT3KTvI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOHNgXlRKe0 Minecraftmann (talk) 12:57, 10 June 2014 (PDT)

I really don't see how this is going to add any sort of "quality" to the article. We don't note "modded" stuff on here. Thought I would point that out. Ashes (talk) 13:18, 10 June 2014 (PDT)

About section "operation in other game modes"

When I'm retranslating this page, I've found something interesting.
According to this passage, tanks on the payload race mode will randomly teleport around the map. However, when I created a tank in the map plr_hightower, I discovered the tank acting like what they do in the payload mode.
