#REDIRECT Kill icon#Unused

There are several unused alternate kill icons that can be found in the game files. Some of these icons are included for custom use by the community, others appear to have been replaced by the currently used kill icons or possibly had their accompanying concept scrapped.

| Ambassador Headshot

|

| An unused Headshot icon for the Spy's Ambassador. It is similar in appearance to the current kill icon and was most likely replaced by the current icon shortly before the release of the Sniper vs. Spy Update.

| Level 1 Sentry Gun

|

| This icon has no clear use. It appears similar to the standard Level 1 Sentry kill icon with one clear difference: the Sentry appears to have some kind of laser attached to the top. At first glance it appears to be related to the Wrangler; however, the icon was present within the game files long before the Engineer Update was released.

|-

| Übersaw Spinal Tap

|

| This icon has no defined use, supposedly used when the Übersaw taunt is performed by the Medic. It is similar to the normal kill icon, with some variance, and was added in shortly after the Mann-Conomy Update.

|-

| Environmental kills: fire and explosion

| style="text-align:center;" |

| These two kill icons were introduced for custom use by community developers. The first appears as a skull and crossbones surrounded by flames and the second as an explosion. Their use in custom maps and mods could extend to lava or intense heat, or explosives such as bombs or mines. The Frying Pan(L4D2 promotion item) also uses this kill icon.
