+ | Hey Taco, i'll answer your questions as much as i can.
+ | |||
+ | * Yeah, it's literally impossible to get a good shot of the character just for using the thirdperson cam. the best way to do it is, spawn a bot with <code>itemtest</code> and have him equip the item, then join spectator and type <code>cl_drawhud 0</code> to hide the hud (1 = enable, 0 = hide) and you should be able to get the best shot of the character as you want
+ | |||
+ | * By default the pyroland is only enabled in a few official valve maps. open the <code>mtp.cfg</code> in the tf/cfg directory and just simply add the "tr_target_weaponref_hdr.bsp" "1" to the list and now you should be able to get the pyroland working on the map

+ | |||
+ | I added you in Steam, so we can talk. Doesn't matter if ya didnt see me little "The Eternal Monk" there, i just wanted to ask you about the law of TF2 science. The newest Sydney Sleeper update made that weapon a bloody nightmare for its enemies, BUT it made me think about Jarate and the little wording in the article: "...over a <b>short distance</b> ...enemies caught <b>within the splash radius</b>" ;;; sydney sleeper: "Headshots or fully charged shots cause <b>an explosion of Jarate</b>." ;; neither text nor demonstration video tells us anything about the real splash radius of the Jarate and Sydney Sleeper. So i wonder if it is the same from the radius of the effect. Is the explosion radius from both the same, and IF that is so, how big is it in hammer radius units? Also it is kinda odd, but there isn't a scale or measuring tape in a map for HUs to understand the length or is there? ;;; Why am i pestering you with this? I saw your youtube channel and you do solid science. Magicalpony (talk) 20:59, 4 September 2016 (PDT)

+ | |||
+ | Hi I'm working on demonstration video and I need to compare the weapon to another weapon. While I was looking through the Weapon Demonstration guide I saw there was a thing that said "If your video requires split screen or an arena map use this VPK file." I was wondering what this meant. Would it show one weapon and another or something else? YXUnknown (talk) 13:38, 21 September 2016 (PDT)YXUnknown
+ | :Hello, the hud currently uploaded on the project was broken. Thanks to Valve for the Meet Your Match update. Here's new the version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b4s3l7f3rlizq5s/Demonstration%20HUD%20V2.rar?dl=0 The demonstration.vpk is a requirement, and it helps disable custom hud. Install it in your tf/custom folder. If you wanna compare one weapon to another weapon, open the 2 way splitscreen folder, and you can see there are 9 files. Ignore the folders, the .vpk files is what you need. Put the "ammo, health, and buildings.vpk" in your tf/custom folder. It will move your health, ammo, and building hud to the center of your screen just like this: https://youtu.be/8F6oJV3uJBA?t=2m11s other than the health, ammo, and building.vpk are pretty self-explanatory. But most of the time you don't even need to use "ammo only", "killfeed only", and "ammo and health". Just use "ammo, health, and buildings" for everything involved with split-screen. Now moving to "3 way split screen", Just use "ammo, health, and buildings" for basically everything involed with 3 split screen just like this: https://youtu.be/8F6oJV3uJBA?t=30s As for 6 way splitscreens, these are used for specific demonstration only. The "baby face's blaster" folder, it's used for the baby face's blaster speed comparision. As for "eyelander", is used for heads. Well that's all, if you need to know anything else, feel free to reply. + | ::Thanks. I do need help with something else, and that should be it. When you showcase the different features of the weapon and transition, do you record a separate demo or edit the video and transition it? + | :::Start record when you are about to demonstrate one specific feature for the weapon, when you are done, stop record. Then you will have one video clip specifically that part of the weapon, obviously that's how it works. As for the transition, two types of fade effects are acceptable for demonstration videos are "Crossfade" and "Fade in/out". There are hundreds of tutorial videos out there on YouTube. Good luck. + | Hello Karma, I'm in the works of making a Demoman shield "Charging" page since one doesn't exist yet (for some reason), and I've gotten word that you'd be the most reliable one to look for when taking pictures ingame and making gifs. Item icons
Please note, item icons are all 512×384 pixels, this is important for the layout to not go screwy in tables. In addition, the Front Runner image you uploaded is lacking Antialiasing quite badly. I've reverted it because of this, please be careful not to double-revert as it plays havoc with the cacheing system. Thanks! 10:08, 31 May 2012 (PDT)

Hi.
Ni Hao :D. my chinese friend taught me that if that makes any sense. Im here to just ask you what programs you use for recording coz personally i use bandicam :D
- 你好 , 我是用fraps来录的 fraps is of the top list recorder but it's large video size file but it's the best one to do demonstration. also you can use Recording demos and Srcdemo2 to render , it's take some times then fraps but it's give smoother and motion blur. watch the saxxy dmeonstration it's render with srcdemo2 looks nice? and please don't forget to sign my friend. Unarmed Combat
You managed to get the unarmed combat to cooperate for a demonstration once, with Bandicam. I tried using that, but the arm was still twitching far more than it was in the current demo. Any suggestions for getting that to work? Or, of course, if you can do it on your own, please feel free to. Thanks! — Armisael (T | C) 04:14, 20 August 2012 (PDT)
- Thanks for doing that. What you posted is at least as good as the current one (and up to date with the color and taunt), so I can't really ask for any more. — Armisael (T | C) 12:34, 20 August 2012 (PDT)
Models not showing up in demos
You need to remove the line "loadondemand" "1"
from the Orchestrina's entry in your copy of items_game.txt to get it to show up in demos. This'll work for any hat, though. — Armisael (T | C) 05:21, 26 August 2012 (PDT)
Too many reservations
If you read the reservation guidelines, they say that you can have at most 3 reservations (and only 2, if all three aren't either reskins of each other or pyroland items). You currently have 4 (pain train, balloonicorn, robro, and orchestrina). You need to remove some of those reservations and allow other people to work on videos. — Armisael (T · C) 09:05, 6 September 2012 (PDT)

border-radius
instead of using -moz, -webkit, and -o-border-radius, just use border-radius. border-radius is the official one and has been supported by all major browsers for years now, no point using old, browser specific code, that acts differently than official(in the case of -moz). Wiki Cap trade on TF2 outpost
I saw this trade linked in your Steam profile description and asked the staff what to do about it.
We've looked into it and, from the outside, it looks like you were legitimately just trying to gather opinions on how much the hat is worth, perhaps with the purpose of refuting allegations from other traders claiming that the Wiki Cap is worthless.
In any event, this kind of behavior is not very good because:
- It comes off as bragging, which is against TF2 Outpost's rules and this is why the trade was closed
- It reflects poorly in terms of integrity; while this isn't explicitly written anywhere as a rule, it should be implicitly clear that Wiki Cap holders represent the Wiki in some fashion; any action executed by Wiki Cap holders reflects on the Wiki. Thus, actions like this don't make the Wiki look good :(
I also feel the need to remind you that some people have sold their account after they got the Wiki Cap, and subsequently got their Wiki Cap revoked. We don't want this to happen more often, which is why this message is there on your talk page. It's just as a cautionary sign saying that what you're doing is still mostly legit for now, but you shouldn't take things any further.
I hope that was clear :3 Please don't feel threatened by this, it is just a caution. Thanks for your contribution to the Wiki regardless, and keep up the good work (and weapon demonstrations) — Wind 16:11, 1 November 2012 (PDT)
- I'll will remove it on my profile sorry , just interested to know what people can offer on it. i wasn't going to sell that Karmacharger 2:53 , 11/2/2012 (PDT)
Third degree / amputator demo videos
You seem to have done quite a few demo videos, so I thought I'd ask you about this. Do you think it would be worth re-doing the demos for the Amputator and/or the Third Degree to show what happens when a pyro with the third degree hits a medic who's using the Medicating Melody to heal team-mates? Kzig 09:08, 5 January 2013 (PST)
- have you tired using a third degree do to that? never think about that but i'd interested to try that out. Karmacharger 1:18 , 1/6/2012 (PDT)
- According to one of the posts on the talk page for the Third Degree, everyone in range of the melody should be hit. I'll let you know what I find - might give it a go now. Kzig 09:33, 5 January 2013 (PST)

The uploads are missing description and tags. Can you add them? Use older uploads as reference. For redos, you can copy-paste directly unless the stats have changed. — Wind 18:05, 17 August 2014 (PDT)

Weapon testing (by replacing stuff on items_game.txt)
Hello, today I removed a bug related to the item float into the air by doing some voice commands on some all-class (Except Engi and Spy for some of those weapons) weapons. However, since I don't have Saxxy, a Golden Frying Pan or a Memory Maker, I couldn't test if those were fixed or not. Can you explain to me how can I replace a weapon (e.g.: Frying Pan) to a Golden Frying Pan? I do believe it's by editing the items_game.txt (but edit what exactly?), and blocking the steam media servers on the hosts file. Thank you. ▪ - 07:42, 3 September 2014 (PDT)
- Correction, only the Saxxy needs to be checked, the other two doesn't have this bug listed on the page. ▪ - 14:14, 3 September 2014 (PDT)
- Problem solved, check the Saxxy page, thank you very much, sir. ▪ - 05:52, 4 September 2014 (PDT)
Pyroland Item Demos
Hello Karmacharger, I've been looking at how to make weapon demos and tried to get the hang of it in-game, without actually recording. I got the basics down (the video recipe if you will) but I encountered some issues that maybe you can resolve since you seem to be very experienced with it. Right now I'm trying to do a Pyroland Item Demonstration for the Spycrab since it hasn't been done already.
Anyway here is my little list of questions :
- I know how to go in thirdperson but everytime I use
thirdperson_plateformer 1
, I can't seem to get a good shot of the character (in my case, the Spy) because the camera gets "stuck" on immovable objects from the initial zone, thus it's impossible for me to get a good close shot of the Spycrab and Spy's face. Is there another command I should use ? (is it in theweaponref.cfg
code ?)
- Another problem concerns the Pyroland Goggles. I just can't seem to get that Pyroland frame. I did everything I could do in the Advanced options but I just can't get it. What am I doing wrong ? Does the
weaponref.cfg
code prevent me from getting it ?
- I know how to get the split-screen but how do I apply it in-game, how does it work ? (by that I mean, can I control each screen individually ?)
- In the end, what program should I use to put every recording together and thus creating the final version of the demo ?
I know these questions might have painfully obvious answers for you but I'm not very familiar with that sort of thing but I'm willing to get the hang of it since video making is something I'm trying to enjoy. (Well not "trying" as in I'm forcing myself to enjoy, of course not... you know what I mean).
I thank you in advance for your answer. Tenacious Taco 14:20, 17 September 2014 (PDT)
Hey Taco, i'll answer your questions as much as i can.
- Yeah, it's literally impossible to get a good shot of the character just for using the thirdperson cam. the best way to do it is, spawn a bot with
itemtest
and have him equip the item, then join spectator and typecl_drawhud 0
to hide the hud (1 = enable, 0 = hide) and you should be able to get the best shot of the character as you want
- By default the pyroland is only enabled in a few official valve maps. open the
mtp.cfg
in the tf/cfg directory and just simply add the "tr_target_weaponref_hdr.bsp" "1" to the list and now you should be able to get the pyroland working on the map
- about the split screen, my friend Obilisk should be able to help and have an better explanation to this. sorry
- i personally prefer Sony Vegas Pro, you could check out the Beginner's tutorials But please feel free to use other tools

Alien promos
Hello Karma charger, I would like to request a video
You made a video showing off the alien isolation promos, but you didn't show off the damage bonus each set does to the opposite set. All I wish to know is how much damage they do, thank you for your time.Gsilverleaf (talk) 12:41, 28 September 2014 (PDT)

Weapon Demonstration tips
Hello.
I was wondering if you had some tips on how to make good demonstration videos. I'm currently a translator, but thought I may be able to help out as a demonstrator. Now I do have the required stuff to make a demonstration, but it would really help if you had some tips that could maybe make things easier. Thank you -- Wiki Pan 12:10, 19 May 2016 (PDT)
- Depends what you want to know, because there are tons of tips i have when it comes to demonstration. I would recommend the "high quality" videos first. Do you have any video-making experience though? Just throw me a friend request on Steam. Karmacharger 3:36 AM 5/20/2016 (PDT)
tr_karma
Hi, I moved your page to User:Karmacharger/Karma temporarily. Once you've finished completing the page there, you can move it to the main page space. -- LordKelvin 12:53, 12 June 2016 (PDT)
- Hey Karmacharger, what do you think about making this the official map for demonstrations? It looks a lot better than the default training one. — Wind 15:47, 2 October 2016 (PDT)
- IT would be a good idea to use tr_karma, but wouldn't you think people would get confused as it's not an official map like Target is. -- Dr. Scaphandre 14:12, 3 October 2016 (PDT)
- What is there to be confused about? — Wind 22:31, 3 October 2016 (PDT)
- I'm sure the only way people will get confused is, they will think the videos which used tr_karma are belongs to me, since i have been using tr_karma for my own videos for quite a while. But of course, eventually they will figure it out. So not a big deal, and i'd be happy to use tr_karma for official demos. Karmacharger 7:00 PM 10/4/2016 (PDT)

Hi there
I added you in Steam, so we can talk. Doesn't matter if ya didnt see me little "The Eternal Monk" there, i just wanted to ask you about the law of TF2 science. The newest Sydney Sleeper update made that weapon a bloody nightmare for its enemies, BUT it made me think about Jarate and the little wording in the article: "...over a short distance ...enemies caught within the splash radius" ;;; sydney sleeper: "Headshots or fully charged shots cause an explosion of Jarate." ;; neither text nor demonstration video tells us anything about the real splash radius of the Jarate and Sydney Sleeper.
Weapon Demonstration Split Screen
Hi I'm working on demonstration video and I need to compare the weapon to another weapon.
- Hello, the hud currently uploaded on the project was broken. Karmacharger 4:13 PM 9/23/2016 (PDT)
- Thanks. I do need help with something else, and that should be it. When you showcase the different features of the weapon and transition, do you record a separate demo or edit the video and transition it? YXUnknown (talk) 17:53, 26 September 2016 (PDT)YXUnknown
- Start record when you are about to demonstrate one specific feature for the weapon, when you are done, stop record. Then you will have one video clip specifically that part of the weapon, obviously that's how it works. As for the transition, two types of fade effects are acceptable for demonstration videos are "Crossfade" and "Fade in/out". There are hundreds of tutorial videos out there on YouTube. Good luck. Help with the creation of several images and GIFs
Hello Karma, I'm in the works of making a Demoman shield "Charging" page since one doesn't exist yet (for some reason), and I've gotten word that you'd be the most reliable one to look for when taking pictures ingame and making gifs. Would it be possible to help me to make just one or two pictures for the page? Something like the one on the Compression blast page would be appropriate, and I'd need a gif of the Demoman's Charge meter going from full down to zero. Archrelico "Mexi" 07:57, 2 January 2017 (PST)
- Hi, well unfortunately i'm only good at making videos, and not taking pictures. But thanks for coming at for this, i appreciate it though. I apologize i won't be able to help you for this, you may look for people who actually contributed pictures like that, and seek them for help. Thanks all i can say about it. Good luck Karmacharger 1:41 AM 1/5/2017 (PDT)
