| + | ::: Keep in mind that a large part of the content of the page was removed as it's not part of the default mod. We shouldn't list every single boss or every single map that's available, as the content on each server can differ, whereas whatever is included in the mod by default should be consistent between servers. The default bosses/maps/class abilities are all that should be listed, really. The rest of the page still needs a massive overhaul, as it's hardly fitting with the rest of the wiki's style, and it looks quite messy. I think that it could really do with being remade by someone that knows the mod well, and can stick to the wiki's style. |
| + | ::: However, I'm still not really sure that this mod is notable enough to even have a page. I've just done a search for servers with "slender_" maps on Steam, and of the 21 servers I've found, only two of them had any people on them, and even then one of those servers only had 3 people on it. I personally only knew that this mod existed through edits on the page, as well. A few other opinions on this would needed before any action was taken, though. --Omolong (talk) 20:11, 1 March 2015 (PST) |
| + | :::: You are wrong, my friend. The Lunar Republic Gaming Server runs with over 20 people all the time, and Glubbale's servers have 4 slender fortress servers, each packed with at least 10 people at a time. While it's likely that more people have joined the servers since I looked, at the time it was correct. In your image (which would have been fine on Imgur or something, it really didn't need uploading to the wiki), there are still less than 150 in total on those servers, which really doesn't make it that a popular mod. Additionally, I'm not sure what you're trying to point out with the second bit. If it's not part of the default content of the mod, it doesn't need to be included on the page. It doesn't matter what bosses turn up on custom maps, it only matters what bosses there are on the default maps. --Omolong (talk) 20:57, 1 March 2015 (PST) |

− | The Smissmas 2014 update was a major content update for Team Fortress 2, released on December 22, 2014 Patch. It was a sequel of past community-made updates before, by Valve's request in coincidence of the Christmas Workshop submissions.
| |
− | The update added 28 new Winter-themed cosmetics and 7 new Festive weapons. The highlights of the update were a new beta game mode, Mannpower, along with two new beta maps, Foundry (Capture the Flag) and Gorge (Capture the Flag). Many already existing Demoman weapons had changes in their functions. Also added were three entirely new weapons, the Quickiebomb Launcher, the Iron Bomber, and the Panic Attack.

| + | I'm having trouble believing that this mod is notable enough to merit a page on the Wiki. The links to the YouTube accounts is not particularly convincing, and a server search gives me only a half-dozen servers that are actually populated, with a bare two dozen total even running this mod. Additionally, I have noted that it's only two or three people who are trying to add to this article, which seems to indicate a lack of interest and notability; if this mod truly were notable, there would be more activity from multiple users, rather than just a couple. There's also the issue of lifting resources from other games (with or without permission), which seems to be part of the reason that this page was once deleted in the past, to say nothing of the general quality of the page itself that seems to be causing issues.<br> |

| + | I would like to point out that the Wiki is not an advertising platform, and should not be attempted to be used as such (it's not that good at doing so anyways). If a mod is not notable, then it's not notable, and creating an article on the Wiki in an attempt to increase exposure won't help that. Most of the information in the article seems to be lifted straight from the unofficial guide anyways, and if people want to learn how to play the mod they can just read that guide instead.<br> |

| + | Unless there is sufficient proof presented that this mod truly is notable, I'm going to just simply delete this page and associated images. It's caused a fair amount of trouble as it is, and we frown upon attempting to use the Wiki as an advertising platform (which is one of the primary reasons why community sites were removed from the Wiki some time ago). -- <span style="text-shadow:#0031CF 0px 0px 3px;"><font color="#000087"><big>LordKelvin</big></font></span> 13:17, 12 March 2015 (PDT) |

| + | :After giving around 10 or 11 days for presentation of evidence, nobody stepped forward to testify for the value of this page, and thus it and associated images were removed. If someone wants to create this page again in the future, I would advise checking for notability, and ensuring that the page itself is up to quality and not just a copy-paste of the game's guide. The purpose of articles on the Wiki is to document information, not to advertise or give in-depth walkthroughs (which people can just go to the mod's home site for anyways). -- <span style="text-shadow:#0031CF 0px 0px 3px;"><font color="#000087"><big>LordKelvin</big></font></span> 12:17, 24 March 2015 (PDT) |

− | The Pyro Update was the second major content update for Team Fortress 2.
| + | == It's gone? == |
− | The Pyro class was the focus of this update. In addition to three new weapons, the latent Hadouken taunt was upgraded to become the first Kill taunt. The update also added compression blast to the Stock Flamethrower, an ability that would become a core technique for the class.

− | Two community-made maps, Fastlane and Turbine, were made official and included in the update, along with a link to the Valve Developer Community site. Meet the Sniper was also introduced in a similar manner to Meet the Scout. Additionally, many improvements and fixes were included.

| |
| | | |
− | The Haunted Hallowe'en Special, officially known as the Terrifying Team Fortress Haunted Hallowe'en Special, was the first update in what would later become an annual event. The update was first revealed in a blog post on October 29, 2009, and the update was released on the same day. Aside from fixing a few issues, the update introduced two new maps: Harvest and Harvest Event. The release of these maps was unique as it was the first time that the same map had been released in both a standard and an event variety. The patch also introduced two new hazards: the ghost of Zepheniah Mann, which was exclusive to Harvest Event, and the Pumpkin Bomb, which only appears on Halloween-themed maps. Two new cosmetics were also introduced, the Mildly Disturbing Halloween Mask and the Ghastly Gibus, as was a pack of five Halloween-themed achievements known as Scarechievements. Finally, the patch introduced the Halloween pumpkin; a special pickup item that only appears on Halloween-themed maps and randomly drops when a player is killed.
| + | I was looking around and noticed the slender fortress page is gone! And I was just about to contribute a load of new stuff that I had found out, I really liked this page and relied on it for help, either it doesn't show up in the search and really is gone, or i've gone nuts |
− | In addition to the new content, three hidden pages were discovered shortly after the update was launched; the Last Will and Testament of Zepheniah Mann, the Mann Family Portrait, and the Ghastly Gibus page. The Last Will and Testament page related the history of Zepheniah Mann and his acquisition of land in frontier America. The Will also hinted at the rivalry between Redmond Mann and Blutarch Mann, which has fuelled the conflict between RED and BLU for more than a century. The Will also left complete control of Mann & Sons Munitions Concern to Barnabus Hale, ancestor of Saxton Hale, CEO of Mann Co.

− | The third hidden page first revealed the Ghastly Gibus which, like the Gentle Manne's Service Medal, was a limited edition item made available to players outside the game itself. It was awarded to the first 10,319 users who accessed the hidden page and entered their Steam ID. Unlike the Service Medal however, all players had the opportunity to acquire the Gibus, as it was later revealed in a blog post (also posted on October 29, 2009) that players could receive their own Ghastly Gibus if they completed the Ghastly Gibus Grab Scarechievement, which could be obtained by dominating an enemy player wearing the hat. | + | : Read the discussion topic above. I suggest we should state those items which ones are useful during a gameplay like the Disciplinary action for the soldier or the high five taunt or director's vision to scout around the corners.

State of this page
So after some discussion, I've realized that the state and format of this page is well.... extremely terrible.
This page probably needs a MASSIVE overhaul as currently, its just giant walls of text and a massive mess of a gallery. I'm bringing this up to perhaps gather input and maybe discuss a new format for this page and maybe other "Mod" pages.
Any ideas or input? Ashes (talk) 22:11, 15 January 2015 (PST)
