Spy does not have an english accent in the french dub.
He has more of a multilingual way of speaking, this factoïd origniated from the surprising fact that he says "Oh my god" where all the other translations make him say "mon dieu" in fact he also says "my friend" and "gracias" etc. But in the french dub he doesn't have an english accent at all, more like a slightly catalan accent which would coincide with his NECA figure which according to a Marc Alfos interview, is more or less what the dubbing team got as description for the characters.

- I couldn't find it it's maybe still on youtube but it's an old video only in my memories. However the fact that he doesn't have an english accent in french is a sufficient proof, I can show you on discord recording of what an english accent sounds like in french. It's far from what we have. I'm asking for permission to remove this for the moment and add the fact that he has a light catalan accent later when someone can confirm with me.

- I confirmed with a French Cap holder that confirmed the lack of an English accent so feel free to remove it. Though the Catalan accent doesn't seem obvious, so that doesn't need to be added.

Spy appears to use the "With Helmet" style of the Brainiac Hairpiece when disguising as a engineer with the cosmetic equipped if the engineer is wearing the "Without Helmet" style.
It's a minor bug in the grand scheme of things, but perhaps it should be added to the page, even more so if this happens with other items(although I believe it may only happen with older items if this is the case), due to the possible gameplay ramifications. I currently don't have any proof on hand, but I do recall it happening when I was using the item.

- This bug already appears with another cosmetic on Disguise. If you can find proof of more cosmetics having this happen, that one can then be changed ot a general bug about styles.

- Interesting, if I had to guess this might be a general bug with hats that remove the default hat of the class that they're on through a style, or at least in the case of older hats. Since Lord Cockswain's Novelty Mutton Chops and Pipe match this, I might test that, along with The Professor's Peculiarity to see the inverse, and possibly a newer hat if I can find one that uses this type of formatting for its styles, although I think that most hats with styles that remove hats add them back in the second style instead of having the hat in the first, possibly to prevent this very bug.

- I'm not sure what the default style is, but I suspect it either uses the first style, uses the style that corresponds with the team (e.g. RED uses first style and BLU uses second style, that's how bugs happen with the Box Trot and the Australium Knife), or it just simply ignores bodygroup-hiding styles.

- I can only assume it's a classic case of Source weirdness, and somehow the words "Without Helmet" have put a curse upon any item with it that makes the helmet appear on Spy, because the two other items I tested(The Professor's Peculiarity and Lord Cockswain's Novelty Mutton Chops and Pipe)work fine. I probably won't add the bug on the Disguise page, but I will probably add it on the Brainiac Hairpiece's page.
- TheFusingCookie (talk) 15:55, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- It's probably just because disguises use the default bodygroup. If you can confirm it with the Brainiac's Hairpiece, it would be better to change the bug on the Disguise page instead. I can try and do some testing myself later.
