According to tf2 stats, here http://stats.teamfortress.org/item/131/The_Chargin%27_Targe the amount of level 1 Targes is singificantly greater than level 2's. There is one level 7 Targe and nothing beyond it. This may be because people have not had time to do more than 7 tours of duty.

This can be seen for many other weapons that are not normally level 1/2/7. From all this data, I speculate that after completion of a Tour of Duty, you have a chance of also obtaining an uncommonly leveled weapon corresponding to the level of your badge at the time. Can anyone confirm/refute this?

Speculation on Valve intentionally adding random levels to items

I think this should be removed unless we have proof that it was intentional. I seem to remember an interview where it was mentioned that the item levels were a bug. ShunyValdez 05:56, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Hat Levels

  • Should I list the hats that can only be found with one specific level (Mann Co. Cap, Dealer's Visor, etc.) in the other items section of the page? Or should I make a completely new table for hats, provided that there are enough level-specific hats to make it worthwhile to do? ILikePi 15:35, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Mann Vs Machine Odd Item Levels

Right now it appears to be possible to obtain levels of weapons that are not their normal level. For example, I obtained a level 2 Chargin' Targe when they are normally level 10.

I also obtained a level 1 Holy Mackerel before that. The Holy Mackerel was obtained at the end of my first Tour of Duty. The Chargin' Targe was obtained at the end of my second Tour of Duty.
