:Those sources are dated (from 2012), and upon extensive testing with bots and using different projectiles vs syringes, and vice versa (as well as for example rocket vs rocket) it's clear that syringes do not interact with other projectiles (with only exception being Dragon's fury, which is very glitchy and collides with various brushes etc). If you wish to continue the topic, please provide proof's that are less dated, preferebly from 2018 (if there's any recording it from back then) or record one yourself. Should this be mentioned?
If you hold down the reload button while firing, you will fire with oddly. The trigger arm will be lifted up and be the only hand on the gun, while the support hand will not touch the gun. Both arms twitch. This is purely graphical and has no effect on gameplay. This can also be applied with other syringe guns, as well as the engies and scouts pistols. - Perhaps. I was going to mention something about that, but I'm not sure how to phrase it. Vorsprung 17:29, 24 May 2012 (PDT)
I'm going to apply some trivia to this page. the gun has muzzle flashes even though it's air powered. GOLDENTRIANGLES 21:00, 15 November 2011 (PST)
Unused Name?
In the Team Fortress V.0 files, (not sure if this is also in the official release) the script for the syringe gun referes the syringe gun as the "Super SMG." Should this be added to the article? BarJarHinks (talk) 11:15, 25 November 2014 (PST)
Content dispute
I am in the middle of a content dispute with Goodjob over a piece of text in the 'Trivia' section. The reason the Syringe Gun is unrealistic (able to destroy the Engineer's buildings) is because syringes would be uneffective in combat unless filled with poison. Considering buildings are made of metal, syringes would not be able to destroy them. That is why I keep reverting your edits. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sausagea1000 (Sausagea1000) • (contribs)
- Listen - this whole game is unrealistic; we have burning hats, aluminium bats and paper bats (wrap assassin in mind) that are able to destroy buildings, teleporters and magic in here, but that's besides the fact, that your trivia is based on an assumption, it's generally not interesting and also something that's obvious to players that have played the game for a day, clearly you did not read the guidelines for adding trivia, nor my reasoning for reverting those edits.
Once again, for the third or fourth time, i am telling you to read this page. I wasn't suppose to reply to you, but it seems like you don't listen at all. Goodjob (talk) 17:12, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hello, Sausagea1000. What Goodjob has been saying all along is the truth of the matter. The things wrong with your piece of trivia is as follows:
1) Nowhere does it state that the syringes are filled with poison. So this falls within the realm of speculation and is therefore not trivia. Whether or not is it unrealistic is up for debate - I personally think it would hurt quite a bit to get 50 needles flung into the body, but maybe that's just me; acupuncture isn't my cup of tea.
2) Even if they are poisonous it still isn't a piece of trivia. So the fact they are poisonous opposed to NOT being poisonous is what makes it weird that they can destroy a machine? If that constitues as trivia then every hat page might as well get a trivia point that states that wearing a hat doing combat is "kooky" or "strange", and that not instantly dying from a rocket is weird because normally that is quite a killer, or so I've heard. What to take away from this is: TF2, isn't such a realistic game and we don't need to point that out at every given opportunity.
3) Even if all of the above wasn't enough to cut it out completely as a trivia point, I ask you this: Does it really matter? Is it really that enlightening or interesting? Anyone who has played this game for more than an hour could tell you the same, if it wasn't such a minute and superfluous, and, in the end, pointless detail.
So please, stop trying to re-add it. Read the help page for how to add good trivia and try again on some other page. Oh, and also, on another note, please use 4 tildes to sign off your comments in the future. Merci~. Faghetti V.2 (talk) 17:35, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
Syringe Guns can Destroy Projectiles
I've seen this scenario multiple times in the past, and I'll post my sources here. (As I've never really bothered with controlled environments in local servers and the like. Bot commands have been inconsistent for me.)
