It is similar to Xbox 360, if the Computer fails to respond to the controller's input these steps should allow the controller to work properly:

* Download DS3 Tool, It will make windows respond to all the button presses from the controller.

* Open it after it finishes downloading, and install if necessary.

* Go to Windows' Driver Manager.

* Plug in the PS3 controller with any USB fit for the PS3 Controller and PC USB Input. A window should appear with a black background.
