Display Title? & Page Conflicts w/ Localization Files
so
I in no way pretend to speak Norwegian. buut I do claim to be able to draw correlations, notice patterns, and check the localization files. on this page, "salgsfremmende gjenstander" seems to be used as the translation of "promotional items." this is all well and good, except that File:Tf norwegian.txt contains no such phrase, instead using "kampanjegjenstand." five seconds of Google Translate claims that "salgsfremmende gjenstander" is indeed the translation for "promotional items," and "kampanjegjenstand" means "campaign item." there's the very real possibility that Google Translate or even the localization files are wrong, but I dunno. I know the wiki is generally supposed to follow the localization files' example, buut I don't know what I'm doing here.
one thing that's clearly an issue (and the thing that prompted me to investigate this) is the distinct lack of a localized title.
I guess I'm hoping somebody who does know Norwegian will see this and fix the issue(s). Kestrelguy (talk) 03:05, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- Google translate is very bad to use for this, languages work differently from each other so you can't really judge it by looking at words and using automated translation tools. The example from the loc files could be a totally different thing than what this is.
