Painted Varients not working

Why does it show up as pink for the mann co. orange painted variant when if you click on the image it shows the correct color? Jake™ (talk) 15:11, 14 June 2013 (PDT)

The incorrect color was uploaded first, and then fixed. The cache has not yet updated for the image, so the thumbnail will appear pink until it updates. - Leaderboard class tank.pngCOBALT 15:13, 14 June 2013 (PDT)

Brotherhood of Arms needs to be added to cosmetic items on class pages

Unless I'm completely blind, this all-class item does not seem to be listed under cosmetic headgears in the various classes' class pages. Can someone please confirm and fix? Thanks. --Knusperfrosch (talk) 21:10, 3 December 2013 (PST)

It's there on the all-class section, next to the crosslinker's coil. --Piemanmoo 22:09, 3 December 2013 (PST)
Oh. Yeah, I see it now. *facepalm* The All-Class cosmetics section was folded up when I checked the class pages, unlike the section with class-specific cosmetics. Confusing. I wish the "hide / show" button was more obvious. --Knusperfrosch (talk) 17:18, 4 December 2013 (PST)

Info box for Medic/Spy color differences

Similar to the Team Captain and Seal Mask, the Brotherhood of Arms should show the Medic and Spy differences to the info box?

Ok, I'll inform Omolong or Makrontt (The one that added RED and BLU images of the scout in BoA page). Omolong is is usually the guy who takes the pictures (I'm not good on that part). However, I'll inform to Makrontt first. As well, I've added the same info in the Talk:Dead_Little_Buddy discussion page. Gabrielwoj (talk) 18:27, 3 May 2014 (PDT)
Just leave a need image template on the page. Easier and lets others know. Ashes (talk) 18:29, 3 May 2014 (PDT)
Ok. I'll do that. I'll add to Dead Little Buddy page as well. Thank you. Gabrielwoj (talk) 18:31, 3 May 2014 (PDT)
Done, added to both Brotherhood of Arms and Dead Little Buddy pages. Also, is each class model necessary to the Brotherhood of Arms infobox in the page? Each class has a different alignment and position to fit the character model. I don't think this is necessary, but I'm asking it anyway. Because we are going to add "Medic/Spy" color schemes in the infobox and show the Medic as the preview for the color scheme for both team colors, right? (If someone didn't understand what I've said, I can do a simply mock-up for the page). Gabrielwoj (talk) 18:43, 3 May 2014 (PDT)
That's the purpose of the all class gallery. Shows its orientation on all class. If it has a different design however, then it should be in the infobox similar to the Team Captain Ashes (talk) 18:48, 3 May 2014 (PDT)
Ok, so no need to add all the classes differences (model differences) to the info box, as the Gallery below shows how each class equip the cosmetic item. The Sniper to Scout for example, has a different design. Gabrielwoj (talk) 18:54, 3 May 2014 (PDT)

Minor fix

Already tried to fix the problem from distinctive color on the image box, tell me what you guys think!

D4rkShddw13 (talk) 20:46, 15 June 2014 (PDT)

You didn't exactly "fix" anything. The need image specified the infobox not the gallery. Also you don't need to note in the discussion page of your changes, we can see them in the RC logs. Ashes (talk) 21:08, 15 June 2014 (PDT)

Brotherhood of Arms colors change between 4 different ways. Question about paint variants.

I decided to look up the textures and the UV chart for the cosmetic. We all know that the Medic and Spy ones are in a darker color, however, there are actually 4 different colors in the textures that certain classes use, using different shades of red/blue. It's as follows:

The stretched textures is an issue in regular HLMV, but it shouldn't matter here much, it's just a visual representation showing what each model per class uses which parts of the texture

This is why the shades of color change a little between the class pictures. So I ask, should there be a paint variant for each class (similar to Patriot Peak), or should there be paint variants based on the different 4 colors (similar to Cotton Head, where Pyro, Medic and Spy were all grouped into one paint variant table)? The problem here is that I would include the class' head, so it would be like a tab called "Demoman, Pyro and Soldier" but it would only show one of these classes head. Also, each class has somewhat different hood models, the way they are shaped, so there's that too. Headphones style when? - User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 14:14, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
Based on colour imo.

Alright, so I did the paint variants to be based on colors, and here's a couple things. First off, these are the differences: https://imgur.com/a/ylAxXYK. On the album, there are two pictures.
  • The first is a side-by-side per team-colored hood for the 4 different color variations, + one extra image painted in Pink;
  • The second image is an approximate color of each color combination, following the same order (Scout, Demo, Heavy then Medic).
As we can see:
  • The Scout and Engi colors are brighter on RED but around the same color as Heavy and Sniper's BLU;
  • The Soldier, Pyro and Demoman colors have a near identical RED color compared to Heavy and Sniper, but the BLU team color is a lot more bright than the rest;
  • The Heavy and Sniper RED colors are near identical to Soldier, Pyro and Demoman, but the BLU team color is now somewhat similar to Scout and Engi (although not the same);
  • The Medic and Spy are the most different ones.
I decided to add Demoman's collar on his paint variants because there is a lack of polygons on the hood without the collar visible (image showing without the collar, I also have paint variants without collar if it's preferred). Soldier's version does not have the strings (which is not good for a paint variant showcase), and Pyro's version would make the hat not visible at all due to how it's angled with the same rot values as the rest of the classes. I will wait for a response regarding this, but I will be making the paint variant table similar to the Cotton Head one, and maybe add something on the main information on the page regarding slightly different colors between classes. I also re-made the Prehistoric Pullover paint variants, but that one is a lot more straight forward as all classes except Medic and Spy has the same colors, so I'll be also including a Medic and Spy tab to the paint variant table on that item in specific.
