There's an entry "Fixed a case where health overheal wasn't being applied when multiple healers were involved." in the patch notes for that one: I can imagine the maintained-overheal behaviour being a consequence (intended or unintended) of that change. The fact that a few patches have gone by and the effect is still there (January 11, 2012 Patch, version 1.1.9.3 at present) increases a bit the likelihood that it's intentional, I assume.

From some playtesting I found that the data on the overheal on the table is incorrect for the two items mentioned above; it should be 425 max overheal, not the 450 it says it is right now. And since the table seems inoperable (at least from my standpoint), if someone who knows how to edit it can fix it it would be appreciated. Thank you

Hey, I noticed that the Medic! bubbles for when a player is on fire or is bleeding in the gallery are outdated - since November 2013, they've become more rectangular (not sure how to link a change, so see Dogman15's first edit). Can someone update those? If not, how and where can I get these from the game's files? Also, side note - For the one that's on fire (never seen the bleeding one in-game after this change), I believe that the bubble and the fire around it are two separate images - their positions have occasionally disconnected from one another. If that's the case, should they be merged into one image? CoralPhoenix76 (talk) 22:41, 22 October 2024 (UTC)

::Found it! Apparently, it's three images, and I think that speech_mediccall_fire2.vtf, a 100% opacity square of fire is overlayed on top of speech_mediccall.vtf at anything but full opacity. Now I'm wondering how much opacity it should have, and where to find this number. I've checked (practically) everywhere - tf2_misc_dir.vpk, scripts, HUDs (why did I do that) and more, and I am now wondering if this is worth destroying my sleep schedule and burning the wiki's colors into my monitor - 5 AM for me as of writing. Where can I find out how much opacity to apply to speech_mediccall_fire2.vtf, and where can I ask around about this kind of stuff? ::: I can't find the specifics in the code, it doesn't seem to adjust the alpha there (transparency) there at all. The HUD file it uses is resource/ui/mediccallerpanel.res, but has no specifics either. I think you'd have to just grab an in-game picture and try to match it as closely as possible (posting the results here before uploading), but I wouldn't know how to accurately recreate it.<br> <span style="color:green;font-family:TF2 Build;">s</span> <font color="DB9C1F">GrampaSwood</font> (<font color="DB9C1F">talk</font>) (<font color="DB9C1F">contribs</font>) 13:08, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Merge with Health

Health & Healing overlap quite and complete each other, for example the healing rate is found on the health page, but not here. Blutsauger's leech is on both. I suggest a merge. --CruelCow 16:53, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

This page is more about the medic, while Health is more about pickups and non-medic sources of health. Nineaxis 16:57, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

In last beta patch was a mention of The Quick-Fix with Megaheal. It is necessary or is possible to add already the given information in to healing page ? And about merge with Health page - I consider that it is not necessary to do it . Rins 06:24, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Non-decaying overheal bug

I'm not sure it's a bug; actually I tend to imagine it's a deliberate change, though that isn't certain either. Does it predate the August 3, 2011 Patch? There's an entry "Fixed a case where health overheal wasn't being applied when multiple healers were involved." in the patch notes for that one: I can imagine the maintained-overheal behaviour being a consequence (intended or unintended) of that change. The fact that a few patches have gone by and the effect is still there (January 11, 2012 Patch, version 1.1.9.3 at present) increases a bit the likelihood that it's intentional, I assume.

See Help:Accessing the game files. The files are in tf2_textures_dir.vpk under "speech_mediccall". The fire is a different image, yes, they should match the existing ones.
