The Lugermorph is a promotional secondary weapon for the Scout and Engineer. It is based upon the sidearm of Max, the "hyperkinetic rabbity thing" from Sam & Max.

The Lugermorph was first given to players who pre-ordered Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse or who bought it up to a week after release. It can also be acquired through defeating Max in a round of Poker Night at the Inventory in which he has bought in with the item and the License to Maim instead of cash.

<!-- Do not add the trivia about Sparkle Lugermorph; it was removed several times. -->

* The Lugermorph released with Poker Night at the Inventory uses a separate internal item ID from the Lugermorph original released in The Devil's Playhouse promotion; this technically makes it a different item, though the only difference is that the Poker Night Lugermorph cannot be traded, and does not have the vintage tag.
+
* The weapon's in-game description alludes to a running joke in the Sam & Max series, in which characters ask where Max keeps his pistol and other possessions, as he does not wear any clothes.
* The Lugermorph shares the same taunt as the Pistol for both the Scout and the Engineer. Since the barrel of this gun is longer than the Pistol's, the Engineer will blow on the side of the barrel instead of the end of it while taunting.
+
* As with all pistols, the Lugermorph's slide does not cycle when firing.
* This weapon and the Licence to Maim are collectively known in Poker Night at the Inventory as the Crimestomper Combo.

Latest revision as of 19:31, 23 February 2024

Who wouldn't want to squeeze off a couple rounds with the murder weapon of choice of a sociopathic cartoon rabbit? Probably quite a lot of people, when you get right down to it. Luckily, those people are all well-adjusted contributors to society with no police records, spotless credit ratings and few unresolvable moral failings. They also probably have no interest in playing TF2, so that means more murder-rabbit gun shooting for the rest of us.
Lugermorph publicity blurb

The Lugermorph (/ˈlu.ɡɚ.mɔɹf/ or /ˈlu.ɡə.mɔːf/ loo-gerr-morf) is a promotional secondary weapon for the Scout and Engineer. It is based on the pistol used by Max from the Sam & Max franchise.

This weapon functions identically to the Pistol.

This item was awarded in Vintage quality (tradable and giftable) to players who purchased Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse on Steam before April 26, 2010. The promotion was also extended to players who purchased the game from the Telltale Games store within the same deadline and redeemed the promotional code they were eligible to claim.

Currently, it is awarded in Unique quality to players who earn the Poker Night at the Inventory achievement Special Item: Max by defeating Max in a knockout round. As of May 23, 2019, the game has been removed from sale. However, any owners may still obtain its promotional items.

The kill icon for the Lugermorph was contributed by NeoDement.
