Yes, I know this is the question you didn't wanted to hear. About the wiki cap, I just have a question about one of the criterias. I believe 400 edits is good, that 2 months is a good idea, but... "Participate in the community by contributing to discussion". I tried going to the IRC chat, and I even said Hello, but no one answered. they were too busy filling the chat with names of TF2 wiki pages.

I see a lot of red links on foreign pages when I roll random articles, and it always bothers me. I made a page for the Saxxy award music in Czech, and just added the video and navigation. Not pretending to speak the language or anything. Would that be alright to do, or should I avoid it since I don't actually have information to add? :It's not alright to do, because then the page exists and translators assume that it exists and is fully translated. Translators look for red links and translate this in priority rather than following blue links and seeing if it's fully translated.

: The IRC chat has a bot that details all recent changes, this is likely what was "filling the chat". With the recent influx in members, a lot of us have been very busy and haven't been chatting in IRC as much as usual. With regards to the "rule", IRC is NOT a requirement, making helpful posts on talk pages would suffice. Nevertheless, to answer your question, that rule is not necessarily a requirement, making a bunch of helpful edits and the like is enough. I'm a new member, and I'm trying to make useful contributions, but I find that 90% of my edits are reverted, even when my edits were justified or correct. I've added sections to trivia pages that I've come back to find missing (for example, I added a "Rio Grind" reference trivia under the "Places" section on the Engineer List of References page, detailing its reference to Rio Grande and its significance to the Engineer, which has been subsequently deleted. I deleted a section from the very same List of References page for being inaccurate, and even explained its removal on the discussion page, only to find it there again today. If the information is WRONG, why is it being put back?!? I'm also a grammarian, and I've made a lot of improvements to improper syntax and grammar throughout the Wiki, and have found a lot of these reverted, as well-- even things that were blatantly wrong, where style was no question! i.e. I fixed a heading that said "Saying and Phrases" and made it say "Sayings and Phrases"; to me, this is an obvious error which I fixed. So why in the WORLD was it reverted?

I've looked over some of your edits, and you're right about changes like "Sayings and Phrases." However, looking over the history of the Engineer references page shows that you've made multiple small edits in quick succession, rather than making multiple changes in a single edit. For that, I would request that you make use of the "show preview" button, as to prevent the Recent changes page from getting clogged up. My advice would be to keep editing, and to not take anything done here personally. If you find yourself frustrated by a change someone has made, you're free to go to the Wiki IRC and ask for others' thoughts on a specific change, and why it may have been made. :: Yes, what happens is that I'll edit something to fix an error, and then I'll notice another error that I had previously overlooked. I understand that changes may be reverted, but really there is no justification for most of the things that have been reverted. For example, I saw the note about Rio Grind on the discussion page, and noticed it was not on the list, so I added it to the page. I even did some research to make sure I had everything 100% correct, and it's irritating to see that kind of work removed with no explanation. As for edits with grammar, etc, there is no reason for it to be reverted. Who looks at something and says "yepp, that's right. we'd better make it wrong again." Hello, can I ask why did you revert the usage of the new templates <nowiki>{{Weapon change destroys buildings}}</nowiki> and <nowiki>{{Weapon damage note}}</nowiki>?! It's the same situation as with, for example, <nowiki>{{Halloween restricted}}</nowiki>, when the same portion of text should be added to a certain number of articles (and the non-English versions also have the similar text block). Instead of copypasting the same paragraph to all those places (and correcting possible errors in all those places dozens of times if needed), it's more correct to create such a template and inject it (and correct the template only).

But I really don't understand why the practice that optimizes support of software code should not be used to optimize the support of multilanguage wiki articles. The performance is not an issues, as I see it — we have articles with far more templates, and it doesn't influence the speed. It helps supporting an article, helping to correct a mistake in several places with one edit — the idea of <nowiki>{{Weapon change destroys buildings}}</nowiki> came to me when I saw FIVE gramatically incorrect edits by one russian editor in the similar places of several articles and should have fixed them several times. Once again, it's the same useful idea as with <nowiki>{{Halloween restricted}}</nowiki> template, and I hope that you will change your mind :). Is it cool to make foreign articles?

I see a lot of red links on foreign pages when I roll random articles, and it always bothers me. I made a page for the Saxxy award music in Czech, and just added the video and navigation. It's not alright to do, because then the page exists and translators assume that it exists and is fully translated. Translators look for red links and translate this in priority rather than following blue links and seeing if it's fully translated.

Balloon Race revision reasons

I am sorry about keeping the article up, but the reason I created this article was that Balloon race is actually a pretty popular mod. I felt it really should have its own page due to its popularity. I think that having information on it can really help people who do this mod. "Untemplatizing"

Hello, can I ask why did you revert the usage of the new templates {{Weapon change destroys buildings}} and {{Weapon damage note}}?! It's the same situation as with, for example, {{Halloween restricted}}, when the same portion of text should be added to a certain number of articles (and the non-English versions also have the similar text block). Instead of copypasting the same paragraph to all those places (and correcting possible errors in all those places dozens of times if needed), it's more correct to create such a template and inject it (and correct the template only).

Maybe I don't see something important? But I really don't understand why the practice that optimizes support of software code should not be used to optimize the support of multilanguage wiki articles. The performance is not an issues, as I see it — we have articles with far more templates, and it doesn't influence the speed. It helps supporting an article, helping to correct a mistake in several places with one edit — the idea of {{Weapon change destroys buildings}} came to me when I saw FIVE gramatically incorrect edits by one russian editor in the similar places of several articles and should have fixed them several times. Once again, it's the same useful idea as with {{Halloween restricted}} template, and I hope that you will change your mind :). You bring up valid points. The main reason for removal was to unobfuscate the wiki; it feels like having a lot of templates for simple sentences would make the whole wiki very confusing to edit.
