TF2 Train Horn in Portal 2?
I was watching this video today [1] (you may argue I am a helpless masochist) and noticed that, at around 3:27, there is the sound of a train horn that sounds quite similar to our beloved TF2 train. If so, maybe it would be worth mentioning... -- Jokerine 13:53, 25 September 2011 (PDT)
- Source engine games share sounds between eachother, often. We've removed similar stuff before (like the Bass Beast using Day of Defeat firing sounds) Balladofwindfishes 13:57, 25 September 2011 (PDT)

My Contribution to this page
I just want to point out what i added that if it is removed from the article; i did take very large amount of time researching and putting it together. Trains are my passion and i thought giving such a detailed account of what the in-game model is, it would be worthy of being kept in the article.--Awesome Weegee 23:30, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Demonstration
I think the page would benefit from a better demonstration video. Maybe tack it on to the weapon demonstration project? SilverHammer 02:19, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Suggestion for quote at the top of the page
Wouldn't the demoman's drunken rambling about '...gonna take you to the pain train station in train town...' be more fitting for this page about trains than the scout telling someone they look like they ran through traffic? Potatoface (talk) 11:54, 7 October 2015 (PDT)
Trivia rework 2020 08
Some of this had become Observational.
Removed to lead:
- The Train seen on most maps has a design that resembles that of the EMD GP38-2, a model of locomotive first introduced in the 1970s.
- The Train on Banana Bay, however, resembles a Gasoline Powered switcher, of which only one exists.
- The Train on District is a generic subway car, with team-colored stripes on the back, and team-colored lights.
I moved mention of the different models to the lead paragraph because the fact that the hazard models are different is simple observation. I added links to the appropriate Trivia sections where applicable.
With the recognition of the 1968 geographic association of the A.D.M.E. 105 diesel with the Thunder Mountains, Trivia for the model might be best collected with the map. Several existed, but only one with this custom "Community" mod.
Removed:
- The train on Banana Bay, on the other hand, bears the reporting mark "A.D.M.E", with no name attached.
- The Train on Banana Bay has a single-color paint scheme, being either red or blue depending on which side of the map it originates from.
These are simple Observation. However, similarity of A.D.M.E with A.D.M.X on similar locomotives is Trivia, but was placed in association with trivia for that model.
Removed:
- Trains also feature on a number of maps not officially in the game, including Trainsawlaser.
Not notable; what feature of Team Fortress does not appear on custom maps?
