There is no patch for May 3, 2011 I've checked every where. And they put it in the wiki when the first minute they release it. Sent me a link to the patch cause I've went every where.

: Yes, there was no patch, but it was changed by Valve when the PvZ promo items were added. Changes to the items_game.txt doesn't exist anymore. The changes are made on the TF2 item schema. {{n}}[[File:User_Ohyeahcrucz_Sig.png|20px|sub]] [[User:Ohyeahcrucz|<span style="text-shadow:blue 0px 0px 0px;font-size:13px;font-family: Tf2 Build"><font color="blue">Ohyeahcrucz]]</font></span>  <span style="font-size:10px;font-weight:bold;font-family: Tf2 Build"><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:Ohyeahcrucz|T]]<nowiki>][</nowiki>[[Special:Contributions/Ohyeahcrucz|C]]<nowiki>]</nowiki></span> 00:34, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

:Items can be remotely edited by Valve as of the Hatless update. They don't need client patches anymore to make stuff paintable. Yesterday the servers were updated to allow the items to be made paintable [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 00:35, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

:: Just to clear this up, the paintable textures were already added to the item's files when the item was added. If Valve didn't add the paint textures, then there would be an update. As there wasn't, Valve just needed to change the schema to make the paints useable in the items. {{n}}[[File:User_Ohyeahcrucz_Sig.png|20px|sub]] [[User:Ohyeahcrucz|<span style="text-shadow:blue 0px 0px 0px;font-size:13px;font-family: Tf2 Build"><font color="blue">Ohyeahcrucz]]</font></span>  <span style="font-size:10px;font-weight:bold;font-family: Tf2 Build"><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:Ohyeahcrucz|T]]<nowiki>][</nowiki>[[Special:Contributions/Ohyeahcrucz|C]]<nowiki>]</nowiki></span> 00:50, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

::: How so? Elements of how a weapon works are not trivia (see Frontier Justice edit you reverted). The Bonk thing is mindless trivia. Lots of effects end if you hit the resupply -- [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 02:00, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

::::If I may interject, I agree with most of the removals you made from the trivia sections but a lot of the times you tried to add it to the article, you just appended the trivia to the end of one of the paragraphs. I'm looking at your edits to the [http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/index.php?title=Bonk!_Atomic_Punch&diff=prev&oldid=151988 Bonk] and [http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/index.php?title=Shortstop&diff=prev&oldid=151985 Shortstop] pages in particular. Doing it like that is a little sloppy and it would be nicer if you thought about how to work it in so that the flow of the paragraph is preserved. If an item seems very difficult to add to the main article but it still seems relevant, then maybe the Trivia section was the best place for it after all, or maybe it should be deleted outright. You're not necessarily doing anything wrong, but slow down a bit and put a little bit more consideration into your work. I guarantee it will come out better. -- [[Image:User Alex2539 Sig.png|link=User:Alex2539|Alex2539]] -- 02:48, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

:::Maybe today I'll see if I can fix up the Bonk article, since that article has a lot of useless stuff in it's trivia section. Also, may I ask Mechlord, why did you revert the trivia about how the Scout and Engineer hold their pistol differently. Umm, isn't that obvious considering there isn't a single weapon in the game 2 characters hold the same? I noticed the Frying Pan article did not have that the Soldier and Demo hold it differently, yet you argue I'm not consistent in my edit to the Pistol. Some of your revisions seemed to be nothing more than trying going through and undoing everything I did because one or two of my revisions may have been a little hasty. -- [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 12:50, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

==Octopuses and TF2==
+
Hello. About the Trivia in the Cremator's Conscience - what I meant was that the item in itself has the ability to be painted (You can try it out for yourself in Itemtest), Valve has yet to make it officially paintable. If yo'd like to put that in th Trivia ourself or would rather I do it, I don;t mind. Also, congratulations on the Wiki Cap. [[User:Spam90675|Spam90675]] 06:14, 21 October 2011 (PDT)
You asked why knowing about an octopus had to do with TF2. My trivia addition to the HOUWAR page that you deleted was defining the term "cephalopod", which is in the hat's description. "Beware the Cephalopod padlock." That is why an octopus has to do with TF2. [[User:Cronie|Cronie]] 05:22, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

:I didn't realize it was in the description of the item. In that case, feel free to add it back in. Much like the [[Lumbricus Lid]], it's not something everyone would know the meaning of. Sorry about that. [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 23:55, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes they ARE bugs, since it forces SOME nVidia users to use the DX8 alpha mode for particle effects. If it affected EVERYONE then it would be an actual change. == Wrap Assassin bug undo ==
: Okay, I didn't know the technical stuff behind what actually changed. However, the Wiki doesn't usually pick whether something is a bug or not. The Blighted Beak had its team colors removed in an undocumented change, yet we don't classify it as a bug. Do we know if the change was maybe a form of optimization? [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 22:29, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

:: The Beak change was documented because it was deliberately changed by Valve, and as such, was not a bug. Actual changes are documented in patch pages, however, bugs are not. And it isn't any optimization, since it uses the DX8 particle effects. {{n}}[[File:Awesome.png|18px|sub]] [[User:Ohyeahcrucz|<span style="text-shadow:blue 0px 0px 1px;font-size:13px;font-family:comic sans MS"><font color="blue">Ohyeahcrucz]]</font></span><span style="font-size:8px;font-weight:bold;"><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:Ohyeahcrucz|T]]<nowiki>][</nowiki>[[Special:Contributions/Ohyeahcrucz|C]]<nowiki>]</nowiki></span> 22:33, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

== Fast Learner styles ==

Hey Ned,
+
About the Fast Learner styles - I do not see any differences in-game between either styles, and since the second style is supposed to be for paint being more for lack of a better term "Pure", I believe that undoing my edit showing the difference between the two styles when painted is unnecessary; if you can find proof in-game or from the creator(s) that the style isn't just for paint to be "purer" than I'd like to see it, but until then I believe my edit will be fine. Same goes to anyone else who wants to undo it - the Fast Learner isn't painted as soon as you get it, so unless Primrose or Twilight Sparkle or whoever else made it explain what the second style is for besides making the paint "purer" I think my edit will be fine, if not better than the unpainted styles. [[User:Spam90675|Spam90675]] 05:30, 23 March 2012 (PDT)
 +
: I agree that we should probably show painted variants, as it better shows the style off, but we show the defaults for now (like on the Tosselcap) if the paint style effects the original colors. And for the Fast Learner it does subtly effect the colors (it has to, the base color is just added as a paint value). I think someone else (probably the FL page) there should probably be a discussion about what to show. Policy and precedent vs actual practicality. "The styles for the Texas Half-Pants have no names; instead, the default item schema strings are used." < You posted that. I dont share your opinion to note that as a bug. It is forgotten content. However, there was no item schema update on that day, (See git.optf2) instead on the 28th and 23rd. (although neither mentioned the tooth kickers). What evidence did you have that they were drop-able? :: The item drop system isn't recorded in the schema. We have nothing to go by for what drops other than reports and the first reported drop of the item came after that day. The use of the term "item schema" in the update history is basically because at the time I made that edit, we were using that description for any addition to the drop system (even if it didn't really edit the schema). About the Cremator's Conscience Trivia

Spam90675 06:14, 21 October 2011 (PDT)

I didn't know it was on the Sandman page also. I'll go remove it from there, as we decided awhile back in irc that we weren't sure enough that it was a bug, so we weren't going to list it. Balladofwindfishes 09:05, 14 February 2012 (PST)

Fast Learner styles

Spam90675 05:30, 23 March 2012 (PDT)

I agree that we should probably show painted variants, as it better shows the style off, but we show the defaults for now (like on the Tosselcap) if the paint style effects the original colors. And for the Fast Learner it does subtly effect the colors (it has to, the base color is just added as a paint value). I think someone else (probably the FL page) there should probably be a discussion about what to show. Policy and precedent vs actual practicality. Balladofwindfishes 05:33, 23 March 2012 (PDT)
Fair enough. Spam90675 10:08, 23 March 2012 (PDT)

Undo/Redo Bugs/No-Bug

"The styles for the Texas Half-Pants have no names; instead, the default item schema strings are used." < You posted that. I dont share your opinion to note that as a bug. It is forgotten content. But we don't know for sure if Valve has yet a name for it or will come up for one, so it is a bit speculation. I hope we can stay the way that it is not a bug, but forgotten content, but this is a speculation itself. TheDoctor 06:48, 18 April 2012 (PDT)

There is a precedent for it being considered a bug, we've listed this exact thing as a bug before on the Backwards Ballcap. Balladofwindfishes 06:53, 18 April 2012 (PDT)
Doesn't make it more right if it was done another time not correct. As it is now, there is no knowledge if it was:
a.) Forgoten
b.) no name yet
c.) both
If the wiki has a way of handling it that way, i dont object. But i dont think it is a bug. And in the chat we could talk better. TheDoctor 06:55, 18 April 2012 (PDT)

Nope, all of them never spin. Also, should I remove about the empty casings of spent bullets are not removed too? User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Hinaomi (talk) - (contributions) 08:13, 26 July 2012 (PDT)
Yea. The thing with these "bugs" is because no weapon does it, we can't be sure it's actually a bug, rather than a design choice. Where something like the rocket launchers or lugermorph, because other weapons reload rockets/magazines, we know it's a bug (or at least an oversight worth mentioning). question

Hello. I wanna ask about this edit. Do you mean a fully completed Tour of Duty or just a completed mission? --askarmuk, C? 05:35, 7 September 2012 (PDT)

At the end of a tour, you get a random item and a botkiller. It used to be this random item had a level equal to your tour number, so I completed my first tour and got a level 1 Short Circuit. They fixed this, items won from a tour no longer have the level of the tour. Balladofwindfishes 05:41, 7 September 2012 (PDT)

I recall your Community Schema proposal (along with many others), but wasn't it added in TF2 Beta the 22nd of October patch?--Kid Of The Century 03:43, 24 October 2012 (PDT)

It was added to the real game when all the other schema 2 changes were back in September. Balladofwindfishes 17:32, 24 October 2012 (PDT)

Teufort Tooth-Kickers added to drop

Sorry to bring back a very old point, but on March 3, 2012, you updated the tooth kickers to say they were drop-able. However, there was no item schema update on that day, (See git.optf2) instead on the 28th and 23rd. (although neither mentioned the tooth kickers). What evidence did you have that they were drop-able? Darkid (Talk|Contribs) 10:57, 8 December 2013 (PST)

Actually, after checking the schema, I don't see these dropping at all. Darkid (Talk|Contribs) 11:33, 8 December 2013 (PST)
The item drop system isn't recorded in the schema. We have nothing to go by for what drops other than reports and the first reported drop of the item came after that day. The use of the term "item schema" in the update history is basically because at the time I made that edit, we were using that description for any addition to the drop system (even if it didn't really edit the schema).
