The Single-Barrel Shotgun is a weapon for the Scout, Soldier, Demoman, Medic, Heavy Weapons Guy, and Pyro.
The Single-Barrel Shotgun's draws are its high rate of fire and fast reload. Its rate of fire is so high that the pump animation won't have time to play out between shots. All eight shells will be loaded into the clip in just two seconds.
Due to its low damage when compared to other weapons, it should only be used to chip away at the health of enemies outside the effective range of projectile weapons. In Team Fortress Classic, the Double-Barrel Shotgun has an identical pellet spread and higher damage, making it preferable over the Single-Barrel Shotgun in any situation where both are available.
