+ | The page says that Spies are really good at picking out Spies due to the backstab animation or lack thereof when you pull a knife behind someone. "You can also see cloaked enemy spies, although only when you are disguised as their team." Is this still possible or did they change it in future updates? Meter1060 02:41, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- It's not possible. Fix, for great justice! -- Firestorm 02:42, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Dated info
There's some dated info on this page. I've fixed those things I'm certain of. However there are some which I think are wrong but I'm not certain enough to change it.
- A Medic with 0% ÜberCharge. An enemy spy disguised as a medic's fake uber percentage is always 0. I'm pretty sure it's a random value between 1 and 99 %
- Airblasting & FAN-Knockback. I remember Valve going back and forth at those, not sure how it's currently.
- If you have killed a Spy with the Übersaw and the charge hasn't increased, they are using the Dead Ringer. First time I heard this
Comments? --CruelCow 13:53, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Poot testing heer! I do know that one of the tips at the loading screen says "As a Medic, your UberCharge meter will not increase if you hit a disguised spy with the Ubersaw", or something worded differently but meaning this — WindPower 14:05, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- I just overhauled the page for most of the glaring errors (Valve fixed the knockback thing a long while back, for example). There are a few things here and there that still need to be confirmed, though. --LordKelvin 05:15, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Expanding into Specific Strategies
I gave a general overhaul of this section a few minutes ago, but I feel that it can be expanded somewhat. Is anybody against adding more sections, such as class-specific strategies (mainly Engineer strategies and anti-telefragging), specific strategies against weapons (Dead Ringer, Cloak and Dagger, Your Eternal Reward), and so on? --LordKelvin 05:15, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Ah, this is a good idea. May take a while, but would be pretty nice - I would help out. I was on this page merely to add something to the pyro strategy. And preferably, to detect a Dead Ringer, shoot at where the spy was before he died - Or not died. If you see blood, or hear a painful noise, then you've shot the spy. Try to find him and kill him - This time truly. Vault Medic 17:34, 30 August 2011 (PDT)
Name
Is it actually spelled "Spy-checking" somewhere? I saw it spelled "Spy checking" by Valve in the game. Rolandius 09:54, 13 August 2011 (PDT)
I'm pretty sure it would be called Spy Checking, as it there is no reason for a "-" in between. Vault Medic 17:31, 30 August 2011 (PDT)
Another sign that definitely indicate an enemy Spy

This is a real technique
When I see a blue spy disguised as Red, and he picks up a health kit, his health icon is BLUE. This is a real technique so don't remove it — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Talcon (talk) • (contribs) 23:36, 12 March 2012
Holiday Punch
This page says that "A 'teammate' that laughs when punched with the Holiday Punch" is definitely an enemy Spy. However, the page on the Holiday Punch says that "Laughing will only occur if the victim is in a position where they would normally be able to taunt. This means that critical hits do not affect disguised or cloaked Spies in any way, or victims who are underwater or in the air." Can it be used to spy-check or not? Or did I get something wrong? --Jerry 05:53, 7 July 2012 (PDT)
Truly Helpful?
The page says that Spies are really good at picking out Spies due to the backstab animation or lack thereof when you pull a knife behind someone. You know, if the animation doesn't happen then they are actually an ally and if it does they aren't. But how applicable can this really be? If you get up close to someone like that and pull out the knife, wouldn't your team mates think that you're the actual enemy Spy?
