I heard that Valve is fixing the Vintage Bill's Hat "bug". Does anyone know anything about this?

I heard that Bill's Hat became vintage when people had deleted it from their backpacks by accident, and requested a new one, causing the newly placed one to be vintage MogDog66 01:17, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Vintage Smintage

Although the trivia for the Vintage is informative, until (As stated above) valve either changes the status or otherwise notes it, should it be noted here as well that technically ALL Bill's Hats are worthy of the vintage title due to the requirement to creating one? (Preordering L4D2, before the vintage update)

Now not saying we should put a trivia bullet saying "ALL OF THEM SHOULD BE VINTAGE, RAGE", but more or less something constructive and informative like: "Although some of these hats were changed to Vintage after the Screamfortress update, because of the hat's origins it should be noted all Bill's Hats are of the same rarity and origin."

But since the vintage ones are a result of a freak happening, they are still in fact rarer ;) Also, don't forget to sign your edits :D Lacysophia 03:51, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Added Trivia

Added some relevant flavor stuff to flesh out the page a bit more. Added a line about the Vintage bug in as neutral a fashion as possible. Their rarity is the result of a bug, and this is made plainly apparent. All Bill's Hats originated on the same day, special treatment should not be given to the bugged ones.

This was my first major update to something, so please give me a bit of feedback on it. I used ideas for trivia from the old non-official wiki, then used links from the official one to back them up. I can list these references, if needed. Henry Spencer 20:31, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Vintage Debate

I have recently spoken with a friend who owned one of these himself and he confirmed that he obtained the Vintage quality Bill's hat by deleting it and later asking to have it back. Since this matches with the rumors, I think it's worth considering true. I've added this to the Bugs section, since it definitely counts as a bug.

This is probably the same way people got Vintage quality Earbuds and Max's Severed Heads.

That bit of trivia has been added and removed several times now. The reason being is that incident with vintage items happened with ALL items and isn't really noteworthy on these item pages. It is however mentioned already on the Vintage article. —Moussekateer·talk 09:30, 28 November 2011 (PST)
