Steam Wallet is a feature Valve has implemented into their Steam content delivery system. Steam Wallet is essentially a bank on Steam to be spent on games, DLCs and in-game content. Money is 'pre-loaded' so that bank details do not have to be exchanged at the time of purchase. This simplifies purchases in-game, such as in the Mann Co. Store.

C. Steam Wallet.

ALL STEAM FEES ARE PAYABLE IN ADVANCE AND ARE NOT REFUNDABLE IN WHOLE OR IN PART. Steam may make available an account balance associated with your Account (the “Steam Wallet”). You may place funds in your Steam Wallet up to a maximum amount determined by Valve, by credit card, prepaid card, promotional code, or any other payment method accepted by Steam. You may use Steam Wallet funds to purchase Subscriptions or make transactions within Subscriptions, where Steam Wallet transactions are enabled. Funds added to the Steam Wallet are non-refundable and non-transferable. Steam Wallet funds have no value outside Steam and can only be used to purchase Subscriptions and related content via Steam (including but not limited to games offered on the Steam Store). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Steam Wallet funds that are deemed abandoned or unused by law will not be returned or restored.

When your account uses your Steam Wallet to fund a purchase, you authorize Valve to deduct the amount of the purchase from your Steam Wallet. If you do not have sufficient funds in your Steam Wallet to make a purchase and you have previously entered your credit card information, we may automatically charge your credit card a minimum amount determined by Valve to make the purchase, even if such minimum amount exceeds the cost of your purchase. Any difference between the minimum charge and the cost of the purchase will be credited to your Steam Wallet.

For those new to the Wallet system, launch TF2 and click the "Shop for Items" button. Shopping first helps you figure out how much to put in the Wallet.

On the Mann Co. Store Home page, click the tabs at the top to browse the various categories of merchandise. When you find something that you SIMPLY MUST HAVE then click the Add to Cart button.

Note: During the process described below there might be some interim screens where you are asked to verify your email address.

When you are finished shopping click the Checkout button.

If your wallet is empty then the Add Funds screen appears. Click on the Add Funds button next to the amount that you want to add to your wallet.

If you already have funds in your wallet then the Steam Transaction dialog appears. Click on the Add Funds button next to the amount that you want to add to your wallet.

In either case the Payment Info screen appears. Enter your payment information and click the Continue button at the bottom of the screen. This is a secure page but you may wish to uncheck the "Save my payment info..." checkbox.

Then the Review & Purchase screen appears. Click the "I agree to the terms..." checkbox and then click the Purchase button.

If this is NOT your first purchase then click the "Return to Your Transaction" button to finish up. Otherwise you will get a screen that shows everything you can purchase from the Steam store. Close that screen and you're back to the TF2 store and can finish from there.
