Item Retirement is a concept, announced in a official blog post on January 10, 2013. The blog post, authored by Saxton Hale, stating that certain specific hats would become permanently retired. The hats will then no longer be available by buying them from the Mann Co. Store, uncrated as unusual hats, found via the drop system or be a craft result as of January 24, 2013.
Retired items remains will still be available through in Mann Co. crates which they are listed as obtainable.
