Item Retirement is a concept announced in a official blog post on January 10, 2013. The blog post, authored by Saxton Hale, states that certain specific hats would become permanently retired. Retired items will no longer be available from the Mann Co. Store, uncrated as unusual hats, found via the drop system or obtained as a craft result as of January 24, 2013.
Retired items will stil be availabe in Mann Co. crates that contain them in unique quality.
