- "Hell's Spells" is a reference to the phrase "Hell's Bells", which is a song by AC/DC and a commonly used catchphrase from the book series "The Dresden Files".
- "Hell on Wheels" is a reference to motorcycles and motorcycle gangs in general, but may also be specifically referring to the Marvel character Ghost Rider.
- "Skeleton Coup" is a reference to the term "skeleton crew."
- "Spelling Spree" is a reference to a "spelling bee" competition.
- "Mine Games" is a reference to the phrase "Mind Games."
- "Hat Out Of Hell" is a reference to the saying "Bat Out Of Hell" of which a preexisting item is named for.
- "Mann-tastic Four" is a reference to Marvel's Fantastic Four.
