The Scout on himself

A fast running, fast talking, and fast killing kid from Boston with a penchant for baseball and grievous bodily harm, the Scout flies like a butterfly and stings like a Shotgun blast to the face. The fastest of all the classes, his speed and ability to double jump will leave slower opponents spinning in circles. This, coupled with his Scattergun, Shortstop or the Force-A-Nature, makes the Scout ideal at hit and run tactics, allowing him to inflict massive close-range damage before dashing away to safety. Not content with only one way to harass his foes, the Scout can also equip his trusty Sandman to stun opponents with long-range baseballs, equip his Bonk! Atomic Punch to make a getaway without taking damage, or drink the Crit-a-Cola to take out threats in seconds. He can also use his Mad Milk to douse out teammates on fire, giving him a support role as well.

The Scout is an ideal choice if you need an objective done quickly; capturing points and moving carts twice as fast as his teammates and spiriting the enemy Intelligence away before they even know he's there. His petite stature and swiftness makes him a befitting class to provide distractions.

The Scout is voiced by Nathan Vetterlein [1].

Trivia

Hot Dog!
  • The Scout often breaks the Fourth Wall, hence "yeah I dare ya', Ragequit" and "This map ain't big enough for the two of us!"
  • It is possible Scout never found out about red Spy and his mom's activities.
  • The BLU Scout's Mother is in a relationship with the RED Spy. A file in the BLU base contains photos documenting their 'activities'.
  • The Scout is one of two classes with no emblem on their sleeves, the other being the Spy.
  • The excited Scout mascot in the Force-A-Nature ad [1] also appears in a slighty altered form as the icon for the 'You'll Feel a Little Prick' Medic achievement.
  • The Scout wears a left-handed Batter's Helmet, despite being a right-handed batter, most likely because he already wears the headset on his left ear.
  • The Scout's "No otha' class gonna do dat!" line is the only time a class has actually referred to themselves as a class.
  • The Scout's line "This map ain't big enough for the two of us" is the only time a class referred the battle ground they are on as a map.
  • The Scout's right eye is at the position 1.337 on the X-axis.
  • The Submachine Gun for the Sniper was originally intended for the Scout.
  • The Nailgun, a scrapped weapon carried over from Team Fortress Classic was also intended for the Scout. This makes the Scout the only class to have their primary weapon changed twice in production.
