Demoman Robots appear in Mann vs. Machine as enemies. They are mechanical versions of the Demoman, with a single eye and 6 batteries strapped to their chest in place of the Demoman's normal six grenades.

Normal Variants

Demoman | Grenade Launcher |

Your standard run of the mill Demomen wielding Grenade Launchers. They often appear in large numbers and can pose a great threat to anyone unlucky enough to be caught in their hail of grenades.
Burst Fire Demoman

---|---|---|---|
Burst Fire Demoman | Grenade Launcher |
95% faster firing speed -50% clip size 75% slower reload rate +3 degrees random projectile deviation |
This variant of the demo-bot can fire its grenades much faster than the standard one, but can only fire two of them before having to reload. These robots are quite rare and they do not often appear in large numbers. Because of its vastly increased firing rate, a player can be killed or heavily damaged by one of these robots at a quicker speed than a normal Demo-bot.
Demoknight (Type 1)

Demoknight | Chargin' Targe |
Eyelander |
3 seconds of 100% critical chance on kill |
The Demoknight is a robotic counterpart of the human Demoman. A "sword-wielding maniac" appearing less often than normal Demoman robots, it uses the Chargin' Targe and the Eyelander, allowing it to quickly cover distances by charging with the innate ability of its shield. This makes them more dangerous up close, but still unable to attack from distances due to the lack of the Grenade Launcher. If several players are close to it, it can go on a critical rampage, gaining three seconds of 100% critical chance on killing a player.

This rare version of the Demoknight possesses the One Thousand and One Demoknights loadout, but it is otherwise identical to the more common variant of the Demoknight.

The Samurai Demo is similar to the Demoknight, with an exception that it possesses a Half-Zatoichi and a Splendid Screen. Their charge behavior consists of jumping high upwards, disorientating players. They then begin their charge, circling their target's head and making it even harder for them to retaliate. Their Half-Zatoichi will restore their health if they kill a player, though the majority of their kills are often with the shield bash itself. These robots are slightly larger than normal Demo-bots, but it is not considered a giant robot, and so it will still receive buffs over time as it carries the bomb. It is also vulnerable to Sappers, which can stop it from jumping upwards when it tries to charge. It can be killed in one hit with the Half-Zatoichi or a backstab, like a normal robot.

A slightly different verson of the Samurai Demo that have more charge time and wear the Menpo. Although they do less base damage, they are critboosted to compensate for this. Their shield bash does standard damage, however.

Giant Rapid Fire Demoman (Type 2) |
Grenade Launcher |
3000 HP +50% firing speed -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded |
A giant version of the regular Demoman robot that shoots a volley of grenades. There are two sub-variants: one fires 25% faster and reloads 60% faster, while the other fires 50% faster, but has no reload bonus and has 300 less health. Both variants do not fire until they have a full clip reloaded.
Giant Burst Fire Demoman
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Giant Burst Fire Demo | Grenade Launcher |
3300 HP 80% faster firing speed 100% larger clip size -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded |
A bigger, badder version of the Burst Fire Demo that can take out a teammate in a blink of an eye. Its stats are the same as its smaller counterparts and the Giant Rapid Fire Demoman, but its clip size is increased to 8 grenades instead of the normal 4, making it a very versatile robot. Don't forget to be aware of the grenades' knockback.

Chargin' Targe |
Eyelander |
Prince Tavish's Crown |

Wields the Eyelander, Chargin' Targe, Ali Baba's Wee Booties, and Prince Tavish's Crown. It can charge like the Demoknight, but for a much shorter distance. Like the regular Demoknight robot, the Giant Demoknight gains 3 seconds of 100% critical chance on killing a player.

An extremely large Demoman giant. This robot fires grenades that are always critical hits. Similar to the rapid-fire giants, this robot will not fire until it has a full clip reloaded. When it does, it will shoot out all its grenades in a rapid succession, killing anyone unaware or too close. Extreme caution is needed to take this robot down, as it has a massive pool of health, health regeneration, and critboosted grenades that can prove fatal.
Sir Nukesalot

Sir Nukesalot | Loose Cannon |
50,000 HP +600% damage bonus +100% faster firing speed +20% explosion radius +20% projectile speed +80% faster reload rate +100% crit chance -50% movement speed -50% clip size +5 degrees random projectile deviation |
With an extremely large health pool, this robot is easily distinguishable from regular giant Demoman robots by the explosions of his grenades, which are far larger than normal and clearly visible from far distances. This robot's grenades are buffed to the point of being a one-hit kill on any target upon a direct hit, though with the natural damage reduction of the Loose Cannon's grenades upon hitting a surface, indirect hits have severely reduced effectiveness. Fortunately, Nukesalot's clip size is halved, reducing the amount of grenades it can fire at once. In addition, its grenades have a significantly increased fuse length.
Unused content
- An unused Demoman Robot template exists for a "Chief Tavish" Demoman who possesses an identical loadout to the Giant Demoknight, but is larger, has 55,000 HP and regenerates 500 health per second.
Bugs
- When a Demoknight Robot charges, the scream is not robotized.
Trivia
- Demoman robots have a custom taunt in which they twice pump their left arm upward, then lift their crotch armor.
- The crotch-smile on the Demoman Robot is the emoticon ":)" printed in a large font size onto a page of tractor-feed paper.
- An early version of the Demoman Robot's head can be seen in the Engineer Update teaser.
