Hello, Anyar!
Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- You can use the button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
- If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Anyar to the file's name.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Anyar/ to the page title when you create the page.
Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Your Question about user boxes
I answered your question about user boxes on the page you posted said question. Just an FYI, you don't need to label your user boxes "Template:User_*user box name*", just "Template:*user box name*" is fine. I understand if you prefer the former. Again, just an FYI. Keep up the work. || twolfe's page || twolfe's talk page 09:07, 7 February 2017 (PST)
- Oh, I didn't realize you replied. I see now. Thank you so much! Anyar (talk) 09:10, 7 February 2017 (PST)
- I was just told that you can name your user box "User:*user name*/*user box name*. || twolfe's page || twolfe's talk page 09:24, 7 February 2017 (PST)
- P.S. I will be moving the conversation we had to the appropriate page.
Spy Watch translation
I changed some things I missed initially on the Template:Class weapons table spy secondary pda. Just an FYI incase you want to retranslate these changes. || twolfe's page || twolfe's talk page 05:06, 17 February 2017 (PST)
- Gotcha. I edited zh-hans and zh-hant. For the other translations, some have a "29%" in there. Not sure if someone should delete any sentences containing "29%", or if we should leave them for people who know those languages. Anyar (talk) 05:24, 17 February 2017 (PST)
- I would say leave them in so whoever does translate them, doesn't think they have already been retranslated. At this point ALL the weapon templates need retranslated / translated, but it looks like most people are more interested in translating main pages / new information. Even though some translations (for the weapon templates) look like they are 2 to 3 updates behind (I am basing this on the numbers that show up, I can't read anything but English). || twolfe's page || twolfe's talk page 06:06, 17 February 2017 (PST)
Thank you for the tips
Hey Anyar, thanks for the tips you gave earlier. I'll be trying to keep them in mind and work as error free as I can. Since I'm pretty new to this, feel free to correct me again if needed. I'm atleast glad my work hasn't gone unnoticed and people actually read it. - Niels Nizuka (talk) 11:09, 22 February 2017 (PST)
- Sure, no problem. I only started a few weeks ago, too, and I had a lot to learn. Keep up the good work, mate! Anyar (talk) 13:17, 22 February 2017 (PST)
Thanks for the insight!
I appreciate your help! I'll make sure not to format incorrectly again. Though I'm not actually new to the wiki, I've actually been here for 6 months. I've just been out of the swing of things recently :P. InfernalShroom :) 17:32, 24 February 2017 (PST)
- Do I get a medal for this? I better get a medal. Or maybe some potatoes for Tark. You decide. InfernalShroom :) 17:44, 24 February 2017 (PST)
About the Stock Broker's Scarf Edit...
Actually, both ways are correct. It just depends on what form of English you're speaking. I just saw it and freaked out because I'm a grammar nazi who speaks American English. Google is my friend. Yay. InfernalShroom (Talk) 16:56, 27 February 2017 (PST)
- As a respectable Grammar Nazi I advise you to capitalize the honorable title "Grammar Nazi" in the future. :P
- I also call myself a Grammar Nazi, and I use American English too. Cheers! Anyar (talk) 17:00, 27 February 2017 (PST)
The Dictionary/items
Hello, thanks for the great work you're doing. I'm quite behind with edit checking, but please refrain from editing dictionary subpages like this edit. There is a red warning as big as half your screen. Instead, edit the Template:Dictionary/items. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 01:03, 28 February 2017 (PST)
- Yeah, I later edited the Dictionary/items too.
- Also it's only about 3/8 my screen, so it's easily missable . :3
- Anyar (talk) 05:24, 28 February 2017 (PST)
If the damage table is broken
Post a link to the page in question on my talk page, thanks. I've been making some upgrades to the internal structure, and I do make the occasional typo. Darkid « Talk — Contribs » 03:52, 1 March 2017 (PST)
Dictionary edits
Anyar, I must ask you again to refrain from editing dictionary subpages. Please instead edit the main dictionary page, even if WindBOT is currently not working. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 09:05, 4 March 2017 (PST)
- No, it is fine. Better to edit those pages and have a working wiki than the current situation... — Wind 09:08, 4 March 2017 (PST)
- Mate I'm trying. I blame the decorated/weapon_grade pages for not having a big red warning. I edited the main page later though. Anyar (talk) 09:10, 4 March 2017 (PST)
Loadout viewer
Hey man, It's me, Scunt! I was wondering how do you do that loadout viewer thing on your profile page. It's really neat and I want one on my page. Also, on a side note, could I get awarded the It's the Little Things Wikichievement? I mostly do spelling and grammar fixes, and you are probably the only person aware of my existence on this wiki. LOL. Scunt Main 10:12, 9 March 2017 (PST)
- The code's documentation can be found here: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/User:Dio/Loadout
- As for the wikichievement, it says "Provide a large amount of edits". Sorry for being a party pooper, but you'll need a few more to get there, but when you do, I'll be there to give you the wikichievement. Good luck! :)
- ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 10:52, 9 March 2017 (PST)
- What's a good estimate of how many more I need do you think? Scunt Main 10:09, 10 March 2017 (PST)
- Not much. I'd say just 50, or maybe a bit more, would be fine, not counting talk pages/user pages. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 10:17, 10 March 2017 (PST)

Just a rant, don't mind me
Stop plagiarizing from Traditional Chinese, dammit. It's so obvious. You even forgot to fix a zh-hant link to zh-hans. At least plagiarize with effort, and read over the whole thing rather than putting the whole thing in Google Translate and not bothering to check localization. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 09:35, 12 March 2017 (PDT)

About my edit on the salty dog article
I realized that the quote that i put on the well rounded rifleman did not fit well, but ¿why my edit on the salty dog was unnecessary? maybe it's a minor change but that quote suits better with the hat that "Bon voyage, crouton!" ManiacTron (talk) 19:53, 27 March 2017 (PDT)
- Well, I felt that not only did Bon voyage have a description for what the Soldier was doing, your quote's only relevance was the "marine" part, as marines is also a bit too specific, since not all sailors are marines. Bon voyage is used quite generally for sailing. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 12:41, 28 March 2017 (PDT)

Hat Checklist Help
Hey Anyar! I need help once again. I used the hat checklist template (which needs to be updated) on my userpage. It was great at first, but I had to add some hats that were not in the list. When I got done. Everything was messed up. The chart didn't even show and instead just had the hats but no background. I found the problem by adding }} at the end of the template twice and then it was fixed. Then, the sniper, spy, and all class tabs don't show up. The sniper and spy's tabs have the text {{{sniper}}} and {{{spy}}} respectively. The all-class tab doesn't even show up! Please, if you can, help me out! SCUNT MAIN 10:15, 15 May 2017 (PDT)

- Actually, yeah, I need to know which lines you added in particular. I searched, and the only line containing the word "Flapjack" appears in both versions.
- The only real difference I see is that while the original version says
{{Item checklist/item|list={{{list|}}}|Flapjack|{{{flapjack|{{{all|no}}}}}}}}
, yours says{{Item checklist/item|list={{{list|}}}|Flapjack|{{{flapjack|{{{all|yes}}}}}}}}
The difference is at the end, yours has "all|yes", the other has "all|no". That might be the issue I guess. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 16:06, 16 May 2017 (PDT)- Fixed. About your recent edits
- This edit was done without the knowledge about the template, it's fine because you're new. But to let you know that common strings template is the template that will automatic turn the word in its template to translate to other languages, but you have to put it in dictionary first. This template was created to not having to waste the time to translate items' name and most used words such as Damage, Health, Scout or Primary for examples.
- This and this edit is not really related to the pages. Not only it's not the example of the dead body when freeze and turned to gold, but it's also X of Y trivia.
- I think if you're not sure about editing stuffs, try reading Help:Style guide before decide to edit. Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 10:13, 5 June 2017 (PDT)
Oh, right. I knew of the first one but didn't remember that for the template. The Spycrab reference one was because I incorrectly thought that golden statues were always frozen in one pose. Thanks for the tip, though. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 05:11, 6 June 2017 (PDT)
Golden Spycrab
@ Anyar and Stylosa: To clarify a little on Hinaomi's comments on the undos, the specific positions of the examples in galleries really have nothing particularly to do with the Golden Wrench, Golden Frying Pan, or Saxxy. Looking at the demo, it is apparent that the model freezes in the pose held at the moment of the kill. Several of the examples, like the Spycrab, are unlikely to happen in general combat, so the reference to the Spycrab is not Trivia for any of these items. Yes, the pose of the spy example is a clearly reference to the Spycrab, but only because it is the Spycrab. Any comment to that effect belongs only with File:Gold Spy.png, but even then it is clearly observational, and so is not trivia. Just now checking File:Gold Spy.png, the rare Spycrab is mentioned, but not in Trivia, but correctly in the Summary. Mikado282 (talk) 16:18, 5 June 2017 (PDT)
- I was not aware that the statue is based on the appearance of the character upon dying. I thought the statue was the same all the time. My apologies.

Reason for Pyro (Classic) edit
I'm keeping it gender neutral because the idea that the TFC pyro is a girl is just retarded.

Missing zh-hans translations in Template:List of maps
I have a project that is derivative of Template:List of maps and I noticed some missing zh-hans translations in the table headings. I don't know how the simplified/traditional differences work (more than just style?), but I am wondering if you could complete the missing zh-hans heading translations. Mikado282 (talk) 19:26, 13 June 2017 (PDT)
- Gotcha, I finished it up. The differences are really just style, as far as I know, the grammatical conventions and whatnot are identical. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 05:26, 14 June 2017 (PDT)
Equip region fact.
I gave the reason for the deletion: "Erroneous and unnecessary". When that sort of magic number fact is newly made, it is usualy removed by senior editors as "Unnecessary". Such an exact count does not add to the article. Moreover according to my count, it appears erroneous as most magic numbers often become; there are 63 regions in the table plus one not included in the table, so 64 regions. The statement was 68, so either my (triple) count is wrong, or the number 68 is wrong and the statement is not fact, or the 68 is correct but the justification for that count is not provided so the statement is unverifiable and so not a fact. Rather than changing the number to the observable 64, which if not wrong now, will soon be, I deleted the unnecessary statement. I would entertain a statement of "over 50" or "over 60" or dozens, because it is impressive that there are so many regions, but an exact moving count is unnecessary.
The "terse" wording for Region Conflict is awkward and unclear. Mikado282 (talk) 11:46, 10 July 2017 (PDT)
- An hour after my lunch walk post above (it was 35C), I realized that you might have a point in that since the "68" fact has long escaped review, it is now legacy and is embedded in the several translations; and so, my deletion would introduce error and chaos ( and confusion and delay :) into the neat and trim translation system. But I decided to check: en and ko 68, zh-hans 56, fr 53, zh-hant and nl 24, most of the rest at 23 (do they start counting at zero? ;) ). This is precisely my point; stating an exact number creates maintenance issues, even if in this case you can show me that 68 is the correct number this year.
- I also realized that in my 64, I included equip region "None", does None count? Maybe if you start counting at zero ...
- Mikado282 (talk) 17:11, 10 July 2017 (PDT)
- That's a good point. I thought it was just a nice little fact to have, but it could definitely create maintenance issues, and isn't wholly necessary for the article to have. I should update the zh-hans and zh-hant pages. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 02:06, 11 July 2017 (PDT)
General notes
Hello Anyar,
I recently took a look at your contributions - which are really good - and noticed just a few minor things that could be improved:
- Please utilize the "level"-parameter in the item infobox. I've also written about it after your comment on this talk page.
- If a quotation has a sound on any page, use "|en-sound=yes" as an additional parameter to indicate that the sound is in English.
- If you're creating redirects for your language, please add the
{{R lang}}
template together with the respective language, i.e. {{R lang|zh-hans}} - Not sure if you don't know about the dictionary templates or if you just prefer using direct links, but with the
{{item name}}
,{{item link}}
and{{update link}}
templates you make your life a lot easier while translating, since it automatically takes the name out of the dictionary.
That's it, keep up your great work! — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 00:31, 29 August 2017 (PDT)
- I'm not sure what you mean by the level parameter. Could you give an example?
- Gotcha, thanks.
- EDIT: Nvm, got it, that's for the page's category.
- Yeah, I know about those but I usually prefer direct links. I guess I'm just more used to them. Thanks, though!

Flamethrower Edit
About my change to the Flamethrower page: Sigsegv posted this video showing that the Flamethrower actually reduces healing by 75% instead of 25%. While this is technically a bug since it's different than what the devs intended, I'm not sure if moving it from the description to the bugs section would be the best idea, since the description should probably detail exactly what the weapon does to avoid confusion. Woah slow down mang. You're making duplicate pages
I know you're itching to get going on getting this new info out, but you gotta slow down and take a moment to see what needs to be done and how that info needs to go out. You even made a duplicate page of the SFM video I made, with the code copied text by text. You gotta take a moment, check the recent changes, and see what could be done, and also be sure to check the Help page for guides.
Also, why not come by the IRC and have a chat with the rest of the editors? We're discussing changes there. Thank you! -- Dr. Scaphandre 19:31, 16 October 2017 (PDT)

- btw you made Jungle Inferno (Video), the v's supposed to be lowercase e.g. in Robot Boogaloo (video)

Reply to Zombie Survival comment
I have been in the Zombie Survival community since early 2017, and I have only ever seen a few Medics using the Solemn Vow, and these same Medics usually switch to another weapon later on. The point is that the Solemn Vow, although allowing you to see enemy health, does not provide the same level of usability as the Ubersaw or the Amputator, which grant advantages on a global scale rather than just to the individual. Plus, Medics don't need to see Engineer health, since they are either mindlessly swinging at one target or retreating and grouping up. Equipping the Solemn Vow puts a Medic at a disadvantage because they can become stuck in a thought limbo (between attacking and retreating) as they stare at the enemy's health.
Jack5wikia (talk) 22:13, 17 October 2017 (PDT)
- This is more psychology than anything; what you said basically sums up ArraySeven's video on the Solemn Vow. However, ArraySeven's video was about the Vow encouraging Medics to focus more on killing than their real job of healing. But in Zombie Fortress, you don't do healing. You only do killing. The Solemn Vow helps with that, and even if you don't use it you can still utilize it as a Bonesaw reskin, and maybe use it check the health of enemies from far away before you attack. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 07:42, 18 October 2017 (PDT)
- I still stand by my nearly year-long experience with Zombie Survival in saying that the Solemn Vow is not a good choice of melee in the gamemode, and you can't really disagree with first-hand evidence.
- Jack5wikia (talk) 19:42, 19 October 2017 (PDT)
- While I don't play Zombie Fortress 24/7, it's not like I haven't played it before either. Experience doesn't necessarily mean skill when both players have a degree of experience with it. I'd suggest a more neutral tone for now, at least. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 19:47, 19 October 2017 (PDT)
- Unless we catch wind of someone actively using the Solemn Vow and claiming that it has indeed helped them contribute to the team effectively, the wiki page will not promote the weapon.
- Jack5wikia (talk) 20:16, 19 October 2017 (PDT)
- I'm not calling for the Wiki to promote the weapon, I'm calling for the Wiki not to degrade the weapon while simultaneously supporting the Bonesaw. There are only two people here right now, and that's you and me. The advantages of it should still be acknowledged. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 06:54, 20 October 2017 (PDT)
"Needs Update"
Instead of removing huge chunks of pages and just posting "Needs Update" in the edit log, why don't you just update them yourself? -- Dr. Scaphandre 17:10, 20 October 2017 (PDT)
- I would if I could. I don't have access to my laptop which has TF2 on it right now. I'm not just removing pages but also adding in new information, so the only really outdated thing is the item infoboxes. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 17:12, 20 October 2017 (PDT)
- Just don't add this "needs update" on every page which just got a 0day update, thanks. Magicalpony (talk) 18:07, 20 October 2017 (PDT)
- This "needs update" simply appears in the edit summary. That's it. Every edit is the same: I update where I can, but leave an update template at the article beginning and put "needs update" in the summary. The summary affects almost nothing, it barely even changes the Recent changes log unless you're browsing the Wiki on an iPhone 5 for some reason. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 18:42, 20 October 2017 (PDT)
- Just don't add this "needs update" on every page which just got a 0day update, thanks. Magicalpony (talk) 18:07, 20 October 2017 (PDT)
- I was quite mistaken in my first assessment of what was going on, and for any erroneous advice, I apologized. Even I had not looked deep enough yet. (If I understand correctly, Magicalpony was specifically talking about the tag, not the comments.)
- 1. We are in the midst of a huge update. We already have a comprehensive list of weapons that need updating. We need no update tags to tell us which ones need updating.
- 2. We are in the midst of a huge update. I am uncertain to which particular bad grammar you are referring. Of course there will be bad grammar, no need to tag it, just correct it. Which part is illegitimate? "While effect is active: Each attack mini-crits and sets Marked-For-Death for 5 seconds." is right from the game. Were you talking about the "2 seconds" under function times? Clearly that one is incorrect, so fix it yourself, don't tag it. If you can't fix something yourself, discuss it under Talk. Mikado282 (talk) 22:31, 20 October 2017 (PDT)
- As stated above, I was not able to update it myself.
- As we are in the midst of a huge update with a long list of weapons to update, I decided to mark the ones that I felt needed updating while updating but otherwise leaving alone the ones that seem up-to-date. This is supposed to make it easier and more convenient to tell which still need work.
- The bad grammar one was not the point. Like the ones before that, I was merely pointing out that the infobox's attribute contents were wrong, as evidenced by the bad grammar, which indicates that instead of taking the real attributes in-game, someone simply made up some of their own based on the blog post itself. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 06:55, 21 October 2017 (PDT)
- The tag is unnecessary, in this circumstance; there are scores of eyes scanning this. Again, what is the bad grammar in the Infobox? I see text consistent with the that in the game. Terseness is is not bad grammar, it is a style appropriate to the context (Valve's backpack descriptions); but, even if there is bad grammar in a Valve description, it is still Valve's description.
- BTW, I will be in and out most of the day. Mikado282 (talk) 07:35, 21 October 2017 (PDT) 07:41, 21 October 2017 (PDT)
- Wait, seriously? I haven't checked in-game yet, but was it actually the same as the in-game description? ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 07:43, 21 October 2017 (PDT)
- "Wait, seriously? I haven't checked in-game yet," <= I wasn't going to come straight out and say that myself, young bull. ;) But, yes, that is usually a good idea.
- I am just now finally able to get into my backpack. But, I looked it up last night by sweeping through my Steam Inventory. 08:24, 21 October 2017 (PDT)
- My gosh, you're completely correct. I forgot that you don't have to open up the game itself to see stats, you can just check your Steam Inventory. Thank you, I will be taking a look right now and comparing/updating. All credit goes to you. I'll get back on the bad grammar part as soon as the page loads. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 08:30, 21 October 2017 (PDT)
- Ok, good. The current Crit-a-Cola description is correct, yes. However, the one that I edited yesterday (link for reference) was incorrect, both in grammar and in matching the real in-game description. Since then someone has fixed it so those edits are kinda irrelevant now. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 08:32, 21 October 2017 (PDT)
