The Great Steam Treasure Hunt is a promotional event that is taking place from December 6th 2010 through to December 20th 2010. Completing 10 of any of the objectives before the 20th, and the player will have a chance to win 100 games of their choice through a raffle. Every two days during the promotion, 20 players will be awarded 5 games from their wishlist selected from those players who have cleared any of the 4 current objectives.
In addition, exclusive hats are awarded at various intervals of completion.
- Completing 5 objectives unlocks the Bounty Hat.
- Completing 15 objectives unlocks the Treasure Hat.
- Completing all 28 objectives unlocks the Hat of Undeniable Wealth And Respect
