The Bounty Hat is a promotional headwear item for Team Fortress 2 that is awarded to players who complete 5 out of 28 objectives in The Great Steam Treasure Hunt. It appears as a worn-out tricorne hat with a closed treasure chest on top of it.
Users who complete the required number of Treasure Hunt objectives must go to the promotion page and click the '"Unlock Hat"' button to have the hat added to their backpack. When the user obtains 15 Treasure Hunt achievements, the Bounty Hat can be upgraded to the Treasure Hat by returning to the promotion page and clicking on the same button.
