hospital teaser image in backround of medic page

just wanna point out that the hospital in the teaser image is the exact same as the one in the background on the medics new page: http://www.teamfortress.com/classes.php?class=medic The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ihasnotomato (talk) • (contribs) 08:22, 21 June 2011 (PDT)

Should there be a mention of the hidden (Medic?) weapon from the double drop picture? doubledropweek.png

What is the Pyro reading?

At the end of the movie, can anyone tell what magazine the pyro is reading? I can not get a good look it with my monitor; is it Hat-wearing Man? – Jmudge 20:00, 23 June 2011 (PDT)

Looks like a Saxton Hale comic to me. The preceding unsigned comment was added by SilverHammer (talk) • (contribs) 03:54, 24 June 2011 (PDT)
I think it's the Jarate Master comic. Davo 12:24, 26 June 2011 (PDT)
It's definitely a Saxton comic, pause it and look closely as the shot pans across the characters. I don't know if it's Jarate Master on the back or not. However, kinda smarts when you spend half an hour pausing, rechecking, referencing links etc. and then SilverHammer wipes all your work in an instant. I'm CERTAIN it's a comic we haven't seen, even if you disagree on it being Saxton. Check the comics page. My edits were fine, worded to not be 100% declarations of truth, and time-consuming. Unhappyface. I like contributing to the Wiki, rarely get a chance though. Not fun when anything you do is cut. Polendino 15:09, 27 June 2011 (PDT)
Honestly, it doesnt look like Saxton Hale on the cover, if nothing more than the character on the cover is wearing a shirt. Dr. Blutengott 19:35, 25 July 2011 (PDT)
Wait, what'd I do to that guy? Anyway, it's for sure the Jarate Master comic on the back cover. --SilverHammer 19:36, 25 July 2011 (PDT)
I'm sure Hale advertises in other magazines, I just dont think that he would let himself be portrayed with a shirt on or not a main part of the cover. Its definitely the Jarate Master ad though. Dr. Blutengott 20:01, 25 July 2011 (PDT)

GreenMarine says "I think it's actually an issue of Mann2Man magazine." [1] -- Pilk (talk) 20:07, 25 July 2011 (PDT)

Concerning the Heavy's Ubercharge in the "Meet the Medic" video.

Should the Heavy's disappearance be noted?

At 2:27, he's seen going towards the truck, however, the camera goes to the Demoman in the wheelchair and as he falls out of his wheelchair from the rockets, the Heavy is no longer seen anywhere near the truck he was heading towards and as the camera shows the Demoman getting up, he's nowhere on the map at all, he then reappears taking cover behind the truck as the Scout passes by the camera Masterlegodude 02:35, 26 June 2011 (PDT)

Waiting Room Line

The ticket dispenser at the end of the video shows 11, so there is an unseen 10th waiter. But to me it would seem that there are two more unseen waiters. In the video, you can see that the Soldier holds a ticket with 3 on it and I think the Spy holds a ticket with 9 on it (the ticket is rather blurry, so I can't see it exactly). Scout is 1. For the moment, let's presume Sniper is 2, Pyro is 4, Engineer is 5 and Demoman is 6. Then who are numbers 7 and 8? I doubt the Heavy and Medic, since Heavy already has had the operation and I find it very doubtful that the Medic takes a waiting line ticket when he is the one doing the operations. Even if he pulled a ticket for himself, then there is still one number unaccounted for. I might be reading too much into this, but to me, the math is just off. -- Killicon train.png Hefaistus - talk 09:46, 27 June 2011 (PDT)

I think it's worthy to note. Conspiracy theories are part of the game in dissecting Valve content. Chronomaster 10:04, 27 June 2011 (PDT)

For me, it seemed that the waiting line arrangement is pretty remarkable. Look, Scout is 1, Sniper is 2, Soldier is 3. It is very remarkable because the Team Fortress Classic's class arrangemnt is like this. Could we take note of this?--Mardamien24 03:01, 14 July 2011 (PDT)

It is not mentioned anywhere atm that the Soldier holds this "3"-ticket. I mean you can see it or oversee it...someone could add it somewhere please, mine notes edit was undone because you can see it. No comment about most of the notes.... TheDoctor(without a small pic) 11:05, 28 August 2011 (PDT)

Just thought I outta give you the reason for this stuff not being allowed on the article; it's too obvious. Well, to an extent That's just the best way to put it. Timeline

Meet the Medic is one of the few things we can see are definitively in the "past" as it shows the invention of the Ubercharge. It seems to also occur after Meet the Sandvich as the Sandvich is half eaten. Meet the Director shows the Sniper, Heavy, Scout, Soldier being filmed in that order around the same time by the Director (Meet the Medic and Spy don't have to be during this time as they aren't interviews.) The Meet the Medic footage already existed at that point, as well. So, right now, we're looking at: Sandvich, Medic, Sniper, Heavy, Scout, Soldier. Engineer and Demo can't really be placed at that time. Just some thoughts on when the videos might occur. Webrunner 12:51, 28 June 2011 (PDT)

The refrigerator from Meet the Sanvich =/= the refrigerator from Meet the Medic. Yes, both contain half a sandvich and a bottle of beer. So what? Just because your neighbour's refrigerator has the same contents as yours does not mean that it is suddenly your refrigerator. It is pure speculation, nothing more. Not convinced? In Meet the Sandvich, the floor is wood. In Meet the Medic, it's ER flooring. Meet the Sandvich has 3 bottles next to the sandvich. Meet the Medic only one. It is a reference at best, but I doubt it is more then just model reusing.
Log story short, we can't say anything about Meet the Sandvich. I wished I could comment on the rest, but I wouldn't be able to do that without placing the Engineer Update and the WAR! Update before Meet the Medic, chronologically speaking. But Meet the Director does indeed seem to be placing Meet the Sniper, Heavy, Scout and Soldier in that order. -- Killicon train.png Hefaistus - talk 13:23, 28 June 2011 (PDT)

Another timeline thing that occurred to me: The video shows the first ever Ubercharge, so it definitely takes place before any of the updates, because the standard (no longer prototype) medigun has been in the game since release. However, one of the BLU soldiers can be seen holding the Equalizer, which he did not get until the WAR!. So we have a minor contradiction. Should this be noted in trivia? Zoon-li 15:48, 28 June 2011 (PDT)

And that is what I meant with my previous comment. The Frontier Justice also appears, meaning that both the WAR! Update and the Engineer Update would take place before Meet the Medic. Not trivia worthy, if you ask me, as it can be explained by Valve wanting to make the video a bit prettier. -- Killicon train.png Hefaistus - talk 15:54, 28 June 2011 (PDT)

Perhaps a reference to an old trailer

Was looking around aimlessly today and I came across Trailer 2. I watched it, curiously, and noticed that the Heavy mows down many people, or rather many soldiers, just after 0:50. From what I've watched, this is the only other video I have seen with the Heavy killing mass amounts of soldiers. Perhaps I'm looking too far into this (in fact I probably am), but maybe Meet the Medic, specifically just after 3:10 in the video, is a reference to this old trailer? Atonement 11:47, 12 July 2011 (PDT)

It is--Piemanmoo 11:58, 12 July 2011 (PDT)
Should it be added somewhere into the page then? Atonement 12:00, 12 July 2011 (PDT)
I don't think it's a reference, they wanted the Heavy to mow down a bunch of enemies, and rather than having a tangle of different classes causing confusion they used several of the same one - the Soldier, being the main generic class. » Cooper Kid (Blether · Contreebs) 16:01, 12 July 2011 (PDT)
That's a possibility, however, if you watch Meet the Heavy, he kills all types of classes. But I could see why they would put several different classes when they are focusing on the heavy, but only one when the heavy isn't the focus. But then again, in Trailer 2, he's the focus and only kills one type of enemy. Atonement 16:45, 12 July 2011 (PDT)
For now, no. It's only an assumption. If you contact a Valve employee and they say it was on purpose, however, then heck yes. Neat catch either way. SilverHammer 16:50, 12 July 2011 (PDT)
Alright, thanks for the information! Atonement 18:31, 12 July 2011 (PDT)

Possible trivia about the various items in the cabinets?

meetthemedic02.jpg

In the cabinets in the background, there are various items in there, one of them is the Medic's Solemn Vow (seen right next to his arm), and there's also a purse hanging on the wall to the right of his head, should either of these be noted? Also, other than the various bottles in there, what are those other objects? Masterlegodude 21:02, 14 July 2011 (PDT)

Pictogram comment.png Maybe Well, while the other objects in/near the cabinet are not noteworthy, these two seem to be. I'm not sure about this one; perhaps if we get another yes we can add it. Killicon splendid screen.pngTheTimesAndQueriesOfMyAss 21:09, 14 July 2011 (PDT)
If anything though, it should be the Solemn Vow since the location of the Heavy's Minigun and the Medic's Overdose was noted, thanks for the response though Masterlegodude 05:08, 15 July 2011 (PDT)

The first line

Where is the proof that this is "cyclops"? It sounds a lot more like Schweinhund to me, and it'd make more sense considering the Medic's German background. Thoughts? SpikeX 21:09, 15 July 2011 (PDT)

Worth Mentioning?

Is it worth mentioning the humor that the Medic puts his surgery gloves on after the surgery? Yaridovich23 09:47, 19 July 2011 (PDT)

It's right up there with mentioning that he isn't wearing his coat during the surgery. In that it isn't. --SilverHammer 09:49, 19 July 2011 (PDT)
No, it's not worth mentioning. Balladofwindfishes 09:50, 19 July 2011 (PDT)

The Scout's Heart

At the very end, as the Scout bursts out of the emergency room saying "You would not believe...how much thus hurts!", listen carefully with a good pair of headphones; The sound of a heart beating very rapidly can be heard. You see, the heart of a small animal beats very rapidly even when the animal is in a resting state. So could this mean that the Scout got the Loch Ness Hamster heart, or the smaller unlabeled one? Oh, and as soon as Archimedes the Dove coos inside his chest, the sound of his heart stops. I thought it was neat enough to mention. Cronie 02:05, 26 July 2011 (PDT)

What heart the Scout has is speculation. That his heart stops when Archimedes coos is observational. Both aren't trivia according to the Style Guide and thus will be removed when added. -- Killicon train.png Hefaistus - talk 03:26, 26 July 2011 (PDT)

Heart size to Health of each class

I think that the size of each class's heart vary to the health of each class. The Heavy's heart is the largest and his health is the largest (300). Should this be noted or not --Mardamien24 19:46, 29 July 2011 (PDT)

Pictogram minus.png Oppose Speculation. We don't know whose heart is biggeer. The heart used in MtM as a replacement heart was merely a way of showing how powerful the Uber device is. User Wingless Winged Signature.png 20:03, 29 July 2011 (PDT)

Engineer Song in Waiting Room

At the end of Meet the Medic in the waiting room, the engineer is strumming what sounds to me like an extract of a Little Heart to Heart Could someone take a look and confirm it? Ryokyon

I listened to it and I agree. It sounds like a lower tempo version of part of A Little Heart To Heart. Nice spotting! TheKieranator 09:08, 4 August 2011 (PDT)

Setting Outside

It's hard to tell from the first few seconds, but I'm pretty sure in the second half, we're looking at a modified version of Viaduct. Kazzymodus 08:44, 2 August 2011 (PDT)

1080p and mistakes

This isn't mentioned anywhere, but the version downloaded through Steam is not in fact 1280x720 (as described by it's own button and as is the maximum on the one uploaded to YouTube), but 1920x1080. Also in it I noticed a second mistake I had not seen in the 720p version. Not only is the Heavy wearing an old decal in the team pose picture, but so is the Demoman.--Katz 17:48, 14 September 2011 (PDT)

Bird-like spot on door

Well, just something small I was watching Meet the Medic today [3] and noticed that, at 2:17, the spot at the left kinda looks like a sitting dove. Probably reading too much into it, but I thought it was cool. -- Jokerine 13:20, 24 September 2011 (PDT)

Yeah... it's just a scratch. I kinda see what you mean though - how do you notice stuff like that? » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 13:13, 24 September 2011 (PDT)
Hah, I dunno, I'm probably just crazy. -- Jokerine 13:20, 24 September 2011 (PDT)

I was watching this, and I noticed at the end that the tune that the engineer is playing on his guitar the soundtrack "MEDIC!"specifically the part from 0:24 to 0:28, was I mishearing it, or can someone confirm it? --Samuel039 04:42, 12 October 2011 (PDT)

Homing rockets?

At least half of the rockets in the video travel in arcs, similarly to those fired by "the matador" in Mechatheslag's advanced weaponizer. Could this be a hint from Valve, or just cinematic effects? Steinar777 09:57, 22 November 2011 (PST)

Cinematic, similarly to how the rocket is deflected when it hits the Heavy. Any relation with the AW weapon is a mere coincidence.  –  Epic Eric (T | C) 10:05, 22 November 2011 (PST)

Resized hearts

Is it worth noting that the Mega Baboon heart was resized by the Quick Fix in the operating room to better match the size of Heavy's original heart? Compare: before [4] and after [5]

Spy's Head

There is a scene in the movie "American Psycho" (the one with Christian Bale) in which the protagonist Pat Bateman opens the fridge of his home and it is shown the head of a woman inside. Just like in the clip Meet the Medic. I think the head of the Spy is an obvious reference to the movie and this information should be included in the Notes.

American_psycho.png

Zap 22:15, 12 February 2012 (PST)

I think that's a possibility considering the Medic's and Bateman's shared homicidal/psychopathic tendencies, however I am wary to say it's anything more than speculation. I'm fairly sure the idea of a head in a fridge is not one exclusive to American Psycho, so it's hard to say if this is intended to be a reference to American Psycho. -Mr. Magoolachub 22:30, 12 February 2012 (PST)
Psycho person opens the fridge - picks something - there is a conserved head inside of the fridge - closes the fridge. Too many coincidences for me. Zap 23:24, 12 February 2012 (PST)

Soldiers Wearing Hats: A First.

I've noticed that this is the first Meet the Team video in which a character is wearing a non default hat. The BLU soldiers are wearing hats such as The Proof of Purchase, Frontline Field Recorder, Soldier's Stash, Stainless Pot, Lumbricus Lid, Jumper's Jeepcap, and The Armored Authority.

I keep trying to add this to the trivia section, but after about 2 minutes it disappears from the page, just like ALL of my contributions. I'm new, so the last sentence may sound stupid. Is there a validation period, or is someone angry at me? What's happening?

Here's what I try to add:

Nintos 15:31, 26 June 2012 (PDT)

It was removed because it doesn't meet the standard of the trivia guidelines. In this case it's an x of y style type trivia and is not particularly notable. Hope that helps. User Moussekateer signature sprite.pngMoussekateer·talk 15:49, 26 June 2012 (PDT)

This might be bringing up an old issue, but on that same line, the soldiers have different weapons. While that itself isn't of note, is it of note that one of those weapons appears to be the same as those used in Trailer 1? It can be seen at 3:36 on the left, tucked underneath the arm of one of the Soldiers. I don't really know weapons very well, though, so it could be that it is just an unfired rocket. Niphanos 11:38, 17 December 2012 (PST)

Looks to me like it's just a rocket. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 14:29, 17 December 2012 (PST)

A reference to the 241543903 meme?

When you search "241543903" on Google Images, you can see people sticking their heads in freezers. The BLU Spy's head in the refrigerator/freezer reminded me of that, so should we add this reference to the Trivia section?

Along with that, there's a noise that reminded me of the critical hit sound at 0:54. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Foxontherails (talk) • (contribs) 13:39, 13 July 2012

That's quite amusing, but there's really no evidence to suggest that it's a reference to the meme at all. And Valve re-uses sounds all the time, a critical hit sound in the video definitely isn't worthy trivia. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 06:22, 13 July 2012 (PDT)

Engieneer holding frontier justice?

I couldn't find it in the notes or trivia, but I saw after the heavy is übercharged (around 3:25 or so) the engineer behind cover next to the sniper is holding the Frontier Justice rather than his default shotgun. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Shadowhand (talk) • (contribs) 23:27, 9 September 2012

Release of medibeam

After the Medic and Heavy climbs the corpse pile, the Medic actually releases his medigun and the beam can barely be seen being stopped. Should this be Trivia or something?

Very nice there / Bitte sehr

The transcript of the video confused me. I'm pretty sure that the Medic doesn't say "Very nice there" when he gives the heart to the Heavy and finishes his treatment on the Scout, but "Bitte sehr". "Bitte sehr" is German and pretty much means "you're welcome", mostly in the context of giving somebody something and would fit perfectly there. "Very nice there", on the other hand... I'm not even sure if that's even proper English (but then, I'm not a native English speaker). And (more or less) gratuitous phrases from non-English speaking characters aren't unheard of. Kaibutsu 11:11, 27 April 2013 (PDT)

Scout saying "balls" when first getting hurt

I hear him clearly and quickly say "balls" when the first rockets hit him. I changed a word in the transcirpt because there's no way it could be just "augh" I mean, he does play baseball. :P Anyways, I dont wanna have an edit war so if you have a good reason against this go ahead giveit to me. ErnieTheGreatest (talk) 01:43, 7 August 2013 (PDT)

Subtitles are more less official. The sound clip is also official. And after hearing it numerous times, And getting others to hear it. They do not hear it. Secondly the little reference of him saying balls because he plays baseball isn't noteworthy. More less not even noteworthy. The transcript is also official iirc.
