Of the custom map pages carried over from TF2 Wiki, the only one that was notable, let alone neither self-published nor self-promoting, is Convoy.

From the introductory images alone, the connection with Convoy was quite apparent, but, the Helltrain is much more expansive. The floor plan is so different that it would not be practical to say that "Helltrain is a Halloween version of Convoy" and as of yet no statement has been presented from a developer claiming that Convoy has any influence on Helltrain.

Certain members of the community will think of Convoy when they play on Helltrain. They would look at the Helltrain page for mention of Convoy.

This map is not a Halloween version of Convoy, even if the creator says it is. It's only a Halloween version if they have the same creators.

So, clearly, we can't say "Hassle Castle is a Halloween-themed version of Upward" because we have no proof that both maps have the same developer.

I am not arguing for that statement anyway, as I already said. Other than the broad generalities, playing this map will not produce nostalgic euphoria for those trying to relive their middle school days of playing on their first favorite custom map.

On other pages, we have such phrasing as "Like on Convoy, players fight over humongous vehicles racing through the landscape, falling from which results in instant death." Yes, even I am little uneasy putting an unofficial map name in such a position.

But the point is not to say it is a Halloween version of anything. The point is to possibly say that a once-famous custom map introduced a concept (besides Pitfall) and that concept is just now added to the game.
