Unused Kill icon?
- I never seen it in game play. I saw only sandman ball kill icon instead of this Kill icon. Should I add it to bug? Hinaomi 10:57, 17 December 2011 (PST)
- I can confirm, I just got a kill and it used the sandman kill icon. I would add it as unused content, and then add the sandman ball kill icon to the infobox. Balladofwindfishes 09:06, 20 December 2011 (PST)
"Bug"
"The recharge meter for the ornament will be refilled if the player picks up a Sandman ball."
- Should this really be considered a bug seeing as how you can refill your flamethrower with a wooden baseball bat or your grenade launcher with a sniper rifle? Roo 00:10, 19 December 2011 (PST)
- Drop weapon is count as ammunition. Doesn't like sandman balls and the ornament, they don't count as ammunition. And we think the sandman ball can't instant change to the ornament when pick up. So we added it to bug with this reason. Hinaomi 01:14, 19 December 2011 (PST)
BUG...?
Hi, i noticed that when you finish high 5 (maybe also on some other tounts but i only have high 5)you cant see ball(i dont know how to say it other way i am serbian,so i will call that thing ball) i didnt know how to post picture :( --MiXxY98 07:51, 29 December 2011 (PST)
This + 4 Refined Craft?
Can you craft the two cosmetics of this set using the Wrap Assassin? Balladofwindfishes 17:45, 28 December 2011 (PST)
- Just did science. Your answer is yes. Updated the 3 pages accordingly. SS2R 13:08, 29 December 2011 (PST)
Sandman Ball and Wrap Assassin Bauble
As noted by Adliikhwan, you can pick up the bauble with sandman to recharge the sandman ball (if you didn't have a ball). Also you may pick up a baseball to recharge the Wrap Assassin. I'm not sure that this is a 'bug' so much. Nor would I expect that picking up a bauble with the sandman would allow you to launch a bauble. Charkbot 07:14, 17 January 2012 (PST)
The edit has been removed, because it is indeed not really a 'bug' as it is intended. Warlike 07:21, 17 January 2012 (PST)
Maybe it should be in Trivia? --Kajoman 06:45, 7 March 2012 (PST)
Possible Bug?
I have noticed if you change teams with this weapon equipped, the Bauble will occasionally stay the previous team's colour. I need someone to test if this is completely correct in case it was just my computer glitching. --Kajoman 11:03, 25 February 2012 (PST)
- If it's your computer glitching, it's still a glitch that happens within the game. Take a screenshot (default button is F12) and show us what you mean. It's probably notable. I eat derpcakes 12:37, 25 February 2012 (PST)

Bug with invis spell
I was playing on a halloween server and cast an invisibility spell on myself while I was holding this. The bauble remained visible, even though it was supposed to be invisible. When the spell wore off, however, the bauble turned invisible. After testing this bug again, I found that the effect would go away if I launched the ball and the picked it back up. Please confirm. Ball Pickup
I don't think you are able to pick up the bauble off the ground anymore because it shatters on everything. You can pick it up airborne though.Hayzze (talk) 15:12, 25 January 2016 (PST)
Wrong Base Damage
The Base damage is higher then 15 on Alt-Fire. You have to add 4-22 initial splash damage. The number is completely random. It is however different from the splash damage a player can recieve if you hit objects near them. (Which would only be 4-13) So the initial hit would deal 19-26 damage. The splash damage is not affected by crits. I am new so I will just try to add it somewhere, feel free to correct me. PandaWanda (talk) 18:16, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
- Pretty sure this is not true, will testing if one of my friend is online. But for now, temporary remove. Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 00:59, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- After the test, it seem like the damage varies on range, and always crits on moonshot. Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 05:11, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- I did some testing too and I might expressed myself poorly and I wrote a wrong damage number, sorry for that. What I mean is, the base damage of 15 is correct, but if you land a direct hit, you gain additional splash damage on your target. This splash damage varies from 4-24. It is different from the splash damage a player can receive upon striking an object near them. This means you will always deal at least 19-39 damage on impact, additional to that the target will bleed for 40 damage, making it a total of 59-79 damage if no crit was landed. On crit you only have to change the base damage of 15 and multiply it by 3, like it's stated in the article. The initial splash damage on a direct hit is not affected by crits. However the damage numbers will be shown separately. If you tick the box that allows you to show the total damage done, you can see that you will be in this damage range. It will add the base damage + splash damage + the first bleed tick into one number. That means if you are lucky and fast, you can actually kill a medic with the Guillotine and the Wrap Assassin projectile without crits. I think this should be mentioned, since people actually think you only deal 15 damage on impact + the bleed damge. PandaWanda (talk) 16:05, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

"random" bauble shatter in mid air bug explanation.
The current explanation currently present with the bauble shatter bug is a bit lacking on terms of the actual details thanks to how seemingly random the bug appears to be on the surface. But there is an explanation to how the bug occours but its a matter of finding the correct wording to condense it into text small enough as to not bog down the bugs section with every last detail of the interaction and to help the community understand better the circumstances that cause this fault.
The bug is a result of the projectile itself colliding with one of 2 objects.
- Dynamic props with vphysics enabled
- Func_brush entities that are solid
In both of these cases the area in which it appears to explode happens to be the max width, height and depth of the entity at any point, including animations that stretch out the effective model size. This is why the size and places affected seem to be random.
Well known culprits of the glitch include
- Badwater last (affected area ranges from red spawn room to end of the ramp)(Caused by enabled vphysics on the bomb pit explosion animation)
- Nucleus mid point (affected area consists of the point) (Caused by the 2 props of which the point sits within)
- Turbine mid stairs (affected area consists of stairs width and height) (Caused by a func brush used as the strips of metal on either side of each set of stairs)
There are more areas like this however they are a bit more on the obscure end and would have no gameplay ramifications compared to the main 3 listed (I.E. Enclosure shutter door props used for red respawn rooms)
In terms of attempting to find more problem spots yourself I used the following commands which helped in terms of grasping the areas affected.
picker
- displays a orange bounding box around entities you hover over, is somewhat finnicky in showing larger entities with no clear orgin like the bomb pit animation on badwater.ent_text *
- displays text infomation related to the entity you are currently moused over.

Doing less damage ever since the latest "fix" updates?
I can't really tell by the Weapon Demonstration, but I feel like I have been doing less damage with the ball shattering ever since the 2 last updates that fixed the ball shattering bug in mid-air. There's a playstyle I like to play that involves the Baby's Face Blaster, Flying Guillotine, and the Wrap Assassin, and I would be constantly at max boost, provided if I would always hit my Wrap Assassin baubles and Guillotines, but recently, I have been having a hard time doing this.
At first, I thought it was just missing things, but I tried it out and I swear I'm doing less damage than I used to before, I really can't tell. Also when I was playing on Degroot keep, I was doing really low damage on the last point, where there's a bunch of players there. Here's a video showing how little damage I'm doing (don't consider the random crits [which I got a ton]): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doHJDJ0wKF8. I would classify this as a bug, as it was not an intended balance change. - ▪ - 13:59, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- To me it seems like you're doing a consistent 15 damage with 4 bleed every time you hit someone. If they fixed a bug then it caused the bug to do more damage than necessary which would mean it's not a bug. Also acccording to the page it actually does more damage on hit than it should.

unsure if this is a baby face's blaster bug or wrap assassin bug or just a bug on all classes
i was playing tf2 earlier and notcied that when i fired the babyface blaster and immediately switched to the wrap assassin it cut off the audio of the babface blaster when i noticed this i then fired the babyface blaster switched to the cleaver but the audio fully played i dont know if this is a common bug across all of the classes with audio cutting off or what but other than the cleaver and wrap assassin i havent done any tests if other people have tested with this please let me know F1r3car (talk) 20:41, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- Probably a bug with multiple weapons too, but just the Wrap Assassin in this case. It's not very notable either way, imo.
GrampaSwood (talk) 20:43, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
proof of weapon swap sound bug
- If a player fires a weapon and then quickly swaps to the Wrap Assassin, any audio that was playing from the weapon you fired will stop, and vice-versa for attacking with the Wrap Assassin.
also the "and vice-versa for attacking with the Wrap Assassin." part turned out to be a mistake so i'll remove that part if i'm allowed to add this bug back to the page. Gage64 (talk) 10:10, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for providing a video proof of your bug. However, this bug is not noteworthy, since the bug sound is minuscule and it does not intervene with gameplay. In my opinion, its better not to add it to the main article.

- apologies, just assumed i could put this bug here since a similar bug is on the soldier wiki page

- Removed from there too, thank you for pointing it out.

Wrap Assassin bauble no pickup from ground, maybe also not mid-air?
Regarding this edit, is it true that Wrap Assassin baubles can't be picked up from the ground because they already explode upon touching ground? Also, regarding the mid-air catches, I don't remember seeing Wrap Assassin catching mid-air, since I hadn't ever seen footage of such; that interaction of catching mid-air might need further testing. Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 02:57, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- The sentence is meant that the ball meter can be recharged if a baseball (from the Sandman) is picked up instead. Feel free to confirm if this is applicable, if not, feel free to remove that information. In the mean time, I'll undo what you deleted, so don't worry on adding it again. Yossef • Talk 07:06, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- That sentence was ambiguous though, so I modified the wording to specify the baseball thing. Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 20:01, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
