Project

The project goal as stated, is to update all tournament pages, focusing on correcting the incorrect use of templates, files, and other elements, and yes, with intentional edits similar to previous ones.

For context, I didn't start this project out of nowhere as one user suggested. I did extensive research dating back to 2013 (though some information had been blanked or deleted.), including reviewing discussion or talk pages and identifying key contributors who created or edited most of these pages. This was to understand what was done incorrectly and what needs to be fixed.

Backpack item template

  • Some pages still use "Tournament Medal - x" strings. I created a specific section for this: {{Dictionary/items#Custom/Temporary}}. As we update tournament pages, these strings can be removed. Currently, they are used in the Backpack item template, as shown below:

Painted variants template

  • Most of these pages were copied from one another, resulting in the same template usage:
    • The use of the "style=" parameter, but tournament medals do not have styles. This parameter was present and documented at the time.
    • Missing "override=" parameter, which would have prevented the template using the page's title within the file name, "Tournament Medal -". This parameter was present and documented at the time.

  • What happened here is simple, these were copied from a cosmetic page and adapted to the tournament page... incorrectly.

Other elements (or sections)

  • View "pages done" section.

Notes

  • File moves are part of the "page update" and align with the template documentation and related pages (cosmetic items). They don't cause any problems, a redirect is made available
  • Requested help or bot permissions with the project........... ignored :(
  • Many redirects have odd naming conventions due to incorrect template usage (and other factors.), none of these names are present in tf_english.
