This weapon functions similarly to the Invisibility Watch, but has the ability to recharge the Cloak meter indefinitely (even when cloaked) by remaining stationary. May 21, 2009 Patch (Sniper vs. Spy Update)
- The item was added to the game.
- The Cloak and Dagger now always regenerates at its intended rate. Previously it only regenerated at the correct rate when the Spy was cloaked.
- Increased the Cloak and Dagger regeneration rate slightly.
- Capped the rate of energy loss from moving faster than run speed (falling / air toss) while cloaked with the Cloak and Dagger.
- Fixed the Cloak and Dagger not regenerating at the correct rate.
- Fixed the Spy's unlockables watches using the wrong consume/recharge rates.
- [Undocumented] The item was added in the crafting blueprint for Your Eternal Reward.
Bugs
- As of the March 10, 2011 Patch, initiating the Cloak while disguised as a Demoman with the Chargin' Targe will cause the Demoman's charging voice clip to play.
- Activating the watch upon round start will sometimes cause the Spy not to hold up the watch. This can only be fixed by dying.
Trivia
- "Cloak and Dagger" is a phrase referring to acts of stealth and secrecy. Its origin is in a French phrase: "de cape et d'épée" (lit. 'of Cloak and sword'.) This term describes characters in theatrical productions who quite literally wore these items as part of their costumes. The phrase was previously referenced in the Spy's job description in Trailer 2; "Uncloak and Dagger".
