La Modalità Medevale è una modalità di gioco aggiunta a Team Fortress 2 durante l'Australian Christmas con la Patch del 17 Dicembre 2010.
Attualmente, c'è solo una ufficiale che utilizza questa modalità, DeGroot Keep. Questa modalità di gioco è unica perché non permette ai giocatori di utilizzare tutte le armi che loro vogliono, ma solo certe armi predefinite. L'obiettivo del gioco è simile ad una partita per conquistare dei punti ben precisi, però vanno prima conquistati i due punti esterni al castello per poter accedere al terzo; che se non viene conquistato entro un limite di tempo ben preciso, si richiuderà e invertirà il possesso degli altri due punti.

Meccaniche di Gioco
- I giocatori quando muoiono rilasciano piccoli medkit invece che armi alla morte.
- Utilizzare l'Übersega non aumenta il livello di ÜberCarica del Medico.
- Generalmente, solo le armi non a distanza e gli archi possono essere utilizzate.
- I Cecchini possono incendiare le loro frecce sui focolari posizionati vicino alle basi.
- La visione in terza persona può essere attivata senza sv_cheats utilizzando il comando
tf_medieval_thirdperson 1
.
Armi Permesse
- Tutte le armi da mischia.
- Esploratore: Bonk! Pugno Atomico, Crit-a-Cola, e il Latte Pazzo
- Soldato: Stendardo Scamosciato, Supporto del Battaglione e Concheror (I Cannonieri possono essere utilizzati, ma non fanno nulla, in quanto non ci sono lanciarazzi.)
- Demolitore: Scudo da Carica
- Grosso: Sandvich, Barretta Dalokohs, e Sandvich alla Bistecca di Bufalo
- Medico: Balestra del Crociato
- Sniper: Arco da Caccia, Razorback, e Scudo d'Emergenza di Darwin
- Spia: Kit di Travestimento, Orologio dell'invisibilità, Orologio mimetico, Cipollotto Letale, e Enthusiast's Timepiece
- Tutti possono usare gli insulti mortali con le armi permesse.

Analizzatore della Chat
Quando si gioca nelle mappe con questa modalità, viene attivato un "auto-roleplay" che modifica tutti i messaggi tra i giocatori affinché i messaggi assomiglino al Ye Olde English applicando casualmente le seguenti regole.

Curiosità
- Nella pagina di rilascio, la presenza dei personaggi di Team Fortress 2 viene giustificata dal fatto che "[Semplicemente] il Soldato ha fatto infuriare un mago."
- I bot funzioneranno solo se tf_bot_melee_only è impostato su 1. In caso contrario, la Spia e l'Ingegnere saranno le uniche classi che attaccheranno con armi da mischia.
