:: But the game fundamentally considers them 4 distinct items. Spine-Chilling Skull 2011 is not craftable at all, it's a totally different item that just has the other 3 hats as styles. If not 4 distinct pages, I think we should at least have 2 separate pages, since the items are a bit different as far as mechanics are concerned. I think the article is a little confusing right now. formula

The formula didn't have 2010 when this page was first written and i suspect that was correct, dunno why it was changed. I just crafted 4 2011 skulls in a row... that's a 16/81 chance if anybody wants to do the math.. --User:UltimateTerabyte 13:00, 8 November 2011 (PST)

tradability

If you craft a skull with the haunted metal, will it be tradable? Thespy 14:48, 28 October 2011 (PDT)

If the Haunted Metal you used is untradable (which it usually is), then the resulting hat won't be tradable either. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 15:40, 28 October 2011 (PDT)

Style Class Gallery

Do we need a gallery of the classes for each style of the skull (3 galleries in total)? The End² 23:43, 2 November 2011 (PDT)

Methinks {{Tabs}} would come in handy for this — Wind 23:48, 2 November 2011 (PDT)
Ditto the paint gallery as well. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 05:14, 3 November 2011 (PDT)
This is the first all-class hat with legit styles, so we may need to figure out what to do going forward for all all-class hats with styles, should they add some in the future. Balladofwindfishes 05:28, 3 November 2011 (PDT)

Can anyone confirm Fashnek's additions?

"When crafting using the Fabricate Haunted Headgear recipe, the player will receive a version of the Spine-Chilling Skull 2011 hat that only has one of the three possible styles. The style of the skull cannot be changed to the other styles. Only hats purchased through the Mann Co. Store will have the option of switching between the three styles." <--Needs proof, otherwise it should be removed from the article. 404: User Not Found (talk) 23:56, 8 November 2011 (PST)

  • Not really my information originally, though I have heard of this multiple times myself. UltimateTerabyte has supported this this anecdotally in the IRC channel as well. At the very least, my edits should not be strictly reverted -- all of my additions about the four different versions of this hat are correct. One of the four was purchasable only, and the other three are craft-only. --Fashnek 00:10, 9 November 2011 (PST)

The game considers them 4 distinct hats

Should we have four pages for this hat? The Spine-Chilling Skull 2011 and the three styles? The styles as their own hats are used for when you craft the haunted metal into one, and it remains that hat forever. I'm thinking since the game says they're seperate hats, we should also treat them as separate hats. Balladofwindfishes 08:03, 11 November 2011 (PST)

No since they all still stem from the same hat, and are still the same hat. If each hat had it's own page, we would have 3 redundant copies of the same page. It is already mentioned on this page that you can individually craft each style separately. Since they stem from the same master hat, it should be left as is in the grouped article. kenny 08:10, 11 November 2011 (PST)
