- The description references the fact the AWP is commonly banned in Counter Strike and Counter Strike: Source servers.
- The weapon's name is a play on "upper hand", referencing the advantage AWP users have.
- The weapon model is ripped straight out of Counter Strike: Global Offensive, but the textures were edited to fit Team Fortress 2's art style.
