| description = Only two things are known for sure about the mysterious Pyro: it sets things on fire and it doesn't speak. In fact, only the part about setting things on fire is undisputed. Some believe its occasional rasping wheeze may be an attempt to communicate through a mouth obstructed by a filter and attached to lungs ravaged by constant exposure to its asbestos-lined suit. Either way, it's a fearsome, inscrutable, on-fire Frankenstein of a man. If he even is a man.

* Ambush enemies to catch them in the short range of your Flamethrower. Use corners to your advantage; however, be sure that the nozzle of the Flamethrower isn't visible from around the corner.

* Don't approach enemies head-on; they will notice you and use your short range to their advantage.

* Approaching enemies from the back is usually a much safer and stronger route to attack. This is an especially effective method when employed with the Backburner.

* Your Flamethrower chews up a lot of ammo. Pick up fallen weapons to refill your supply.

* You can often set enemies on fire and retreat, leaving them to die from the afterburn.

The Flamethrower, Backburner, Degreaser, Phlogistinator, Rainblower, Flare Gun, Detonator, and Scorch Shot deal no damage when fired underwater, instead producing harmless bubbles. The aforementioned weapons will deal damage if fired from above water at an enemy that is only partially immersed in water; however, the water will immediately extinguish the ensuing afterburn.

* When a player is selecting a class in-game while on BLU team, the Pyro is holding a RED team Flamethrower instead of the BLU team Flamethrower.

* If a burning player enters a spawn area and changes to Pyro, they will change classes but still be ignited for the remainder of the original duration. The Pyro will not take damage from the afterburn but will still shout, "Fire!". During this time, fire-based critical hits such those from the Axtinguisher will affect the Pyro.

Trivia
* The Pyro's voice actor, Dennis Bateman, also voices the Spy class.

* The Pyro has the same voice for the English, German, Spanish, French, and Russian versions of Team Fortress 2.

* Three Napalm Grenades, weapons from Team Fortress Classic, appear strapped to the front of the Pyro's suit and were originally intended to be usable weapons in Team Fortress 2. However, all thrown grenades were eventually scrapped for balancing purposes.

* The first BLU team Pyro resembled Abraham Lincoln.

* The Pyro is the mascot of "Pyro's Hamburgers", a brand of food sold in Left 4 Dead 2.

* The Pyro is playable in Killing Floor as a promotional bonus character for those who have purchased both Killing Floor and Team Fortress 2.

* The Pyro appears in Worms: Reloaded as part of a playable stage. Additionally, the Pyro's gas mask is a selectable hat for the player's worms.

* The Pyro's gas mask is wearable by the Tank class of Monday Night Combat under the name "Jet Guns Are Better".

* The Pyro, along with the Heavy and the Spy, is a playable character as one character called "Team Fortress" in the PC version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Pyro drives the standard car whilst Heavy and Spy drive the boat and the plane respectively.

Green Enfield: You're one crazy killer Herb. Yellow Herb: Thanks buddy.

The Yellow Herb Pyro is a often very silent killer, sneaking around his own base like a spy ambushing the enemies that dare to enter his base, He is known to use the compression blast as a primary weapon
how ever that works
and has been known to take out three Heavys all at once by him self, though the compression blast is his favorite weapon he also welds a Rage-Inducing Shotgun when ever he is not utilizing the compression blast on his Epic Flame Thrower.

And with all this air blast fueled Pyro comes an unending hate for Spys often dropping what ever he is doing to go on a crazed man hunt when ever he sees a spy in his base, and the only class he hates just as much as Spys is scouts
ones that jump around a lot
he gets a great deal of joy from setting Scouts on fire and using his compression blast to pin them against a wall until they burn to death and he also loves to add insult to injury by taunting when ever he kills a soldier with there own rocket.

But its not all blood and guts with the Yellow Herb Pyro for as much as he hates spys he loves engineers and will risk life and limb to protect them when they help defend the base, and this is made clear by the fact that he has never once used any melee weapon other then the Homewrecker ever since Mann.co supplied it, another sign of the heart in this killer is indeed his heart having given away 231 gifts his Spirit of Giving is almost as big as Hales own heart, along with this he once gave away 118 self crafted hats in one week, its only a shame these did not get added to his Spirit of Giving.
